Polly, I am a longtime lurker and I've been wanting to say something for a long time. The way you phrase things in your postings reminds me so much of my mother. She was also clever, unconventional and had a positive outlook. In some ways you are very different - she was a Yankee through and through. But you're alike in the ways that count. She's been gone 18 years now - she would have been 85 this year.
