OT paperback book trading

I know that, like myself, there are a lot of avid readers here on RTCQ. My paperbacks are really stacking up and I would love to trade with those who enjoy similar genres. My tastes go to mystery, thriller, and sci-fi.

This offer will have to extend to those in the US only, because the cost would be prohibitive otherwise. :-( In the US, however, we can use media mail, which costs 2.38 for the first pound.

Anyone interested?

Best regards, Michelle

I don't know if there's a nursing home or Senior Center near you, but both places usually love to get books. At our Senior Center we can take as many as we want home to read--no check-out, no due dates, etc. Just return when finished. I often buy books at the library book sale and donate them to the center. I just brought 5 home today. Gen

Similarly to Gen, I take my "used" books to the cancer center when I go in for treatment or an appointment. They have a bookcase there where patients and companions can pick up something to read while they get treatment or wait for someone who is getting it.

We do the same thing in the building where I work. There was an unused closet on our floor. We had shelves put into it and most of us drop off or pick up books there on a regular basis. No checkout, no return policy, etc.

Just another couple of thoughts for you.

Rita and Gen,

Thanks for the suggestions. If I can't find someone who would like to trade paperbacks, I may do something like that.
