OT: Prayers desperately needed

My daughter's sister-in-law (her husband's brother's wife) went into labor this morning after finding out that her mother passed away suddenly on a flight early this morning from Singapore to California to be with her when the baby was born. This was a difficult pregnancy to begin with. We have no further details yet. Linda PATCHogue, NY

Many prayers and good thoughts for all concerned.

I will tell you tho, there are some who would interpret what happened this way:

Grandma passed from one life, her old one, into her new one -- the babe being born. We are linked throughout time, returning time and again to be with the ones we love but in ever changing parts of the "whole". One time a mother, next time a sister or a brother or...... And each time we bring with us the wisdom and lessons from the time before.

I only mention this because I have a dear friend who believes this and it is of great comfort to her. She only has a few months to live, at best. And her daughter is expecting a baby. She has said she believes she may "reincarnate" in the new baby.

We all believe differently. Perhaps this belief can bring comfort to someone in pain.

Hugs, Sunny

What a comforting belief Sunny. I remember when I was pregnant with my first born, Lewis, nearly 21 years ago now. I was visiting my father's grave and the caretaker came and spoke to me. He told me that he bet I would have a boy as that was his experience. When one life left the same sex was reborn into a family. Sure enough that happened with me. It makes you wonder doesn't it. I often feel close to a grandmother I never met. Life is strange. Elly

I didn't know it at the time but I was pregnant with DS when my favourite grandfather died. DS is just as mischievious and rascally as he was.
