OT QI update

We had to take Miz Stripey to the vet yesterday. She was in for shots and a general check-up at the end of of November, but since then she has developed a tremor in her back end, and has taken to doing her buisness inappropriately, sometimes even wetting her bed. She is an old lady cat, 14 years old, and we are worried. The vet noted that she has a bit of a splay legged gait on her rear end, but urine tests came up clean and he couldn't find any owie spots on her. He is suspecting hyperthyroidism, especially as she has dropped a half a pound in just 2 months. That is significant for a cat as small as she is. The blood work will be back in a week or so and then we will have a better idea. By gosh a geriatric blood panel for a cat costs the whole earth!

Mr. Spike went in to the vet today for The Operation. Fortunately we hooked up with a state program that gives us the spay/neuter for $20, and half off any shots he needs before the operation. so that gave us his first rabies and distemper shot plus the neuter for $40 total. Yes! His very first visit he took against members of the vetrinary profession. He was OK until they took his temperature. After that we had to hold his front paws because if he saw the vet or assistant holding so much as a pen he would attack their hands until they dropped it. LOL! We got the call from the office and they have reported that the surgery was routine, Spike is recovering well, and all members of staff still have their fingers. I imagine he must have registered some protest about his situation.
