OT Quick update

Hello my quilty friends. I'm not much good for anything useful right now- sitting in a wheelchair shifted to the left since the right "check" is too swollen and tender to allow sitting level. VBG The hospital stay was a nightmare of neglect and abuse with complaints filed with several regulatory agencies. The original hip surgery was a joke and the revision was described as very extensive by my doctor and he said- flat out- that the original surgery was done wrong. My 4-6 months of recovery are going to be difficult. I'll miss the entire gardening season- darnnit! And quilting will be an impossibility- my hands can't take any handwork due to arthritis. Sadly, the horse-pital quilt only makes me sad to look at it- I had my hubby put it in a closet. I guess reading, television and dreaming of when this nightmare is over will be my entertainment. The HairyButt Gang is taking this very hard. They are devoted to me and only dear, old, sickly Missy is calm and trustworthy enough to lay beside me on the bed. Bless her dear, loving heart. the other three are just too enthusiastic in their love for me. And my hubby- I knew he was wonderful, but..... I couldn't survive without him. He has gone above and beyond "the call of duty" a thousand times and we are only a week into this.

I'll try to drop as line or two as I can and thank you from my heart for all the prayers and good thoughts... Boy-o-boy did I ever need them.

I'm so sorry your hospital stay was miserable. It's good you're home where you can be lovingly cared for. Is it difficult for you to read emails and the newsgroup? I'd be glad to forward the jokes I get if you could tolerate reading on the computer. I know they give me a giggle now and then. Take care Leslie...I hope you recover quicker than you've been told.

Awwww! I'm so sorry that this ordeal has become and even worse ordeal that it already was bound to be. Please take extra supplements so your body will have an extra boost in healing. Don't forget vitamin E for healing, plenty of C as well, and don't discount magnesium for keeping things regular in spite of low activity! I'm glad HMC is spoiling you! ;) chipper

Sending positive thoughts for a speedy recovery - even tho you have to do it slowly! Hoping the second time's a charm and that your Dr. got it right. Will that first Dr. be held accountable for a rotten job and all the suffering that he put you through? He certainly should be.

Bless your DH! He's a keeper! And your furbabies are just so excited to have you home! Hopefully they'll sense that you need calm-lovin' and that they'll settle down soon. You'll have to surround yourself with quilt books and decide what your first project will be - no rush, just take time to dream a little! ME-Judy

Oh, Leslie,

I am so sorry to hear about your hospital stay. With everything you have gone through you would think the hospital would have, at least, been a comfortable place until your were released.

My prayers are with you and I am happy for you that you are home.

Hugs and Prayers,

Marsha

Wow, you're a 'toughie' and no mistake! Not even a week, and you're home and chatting with us. Do take care though. Progress little by little, don't forget - no 'giant leaps for mankind' or anything like that. Thoughts and prayers haven't and won't stop. Just imagine you are preparing for Christmas, then the months will just fly by >g< So glad you have Missy to keep you company, especially in these early days. Take care . Big hugs for you, Leslie, the hunky Mr. Collins for being such and angel to you and the Hairybutt Gang for commiseration. The antsy ones can come play with Clifford, he'd be glad of the company! Despite your hospital stay being terrible, I hope you recovery and rehab go a smoothly and quickly as possible. Take care,

Oh, Leslie, it's so good to hear directly from you! The Hunky Mr. Collins was very good in letting Karen know how you were getting along, and she was great at keeping us posted; but there's nothing like hearing it directly from you! I'm so sorry that this has turned into so much more of an ordeal than you'd thought, and I'm hoping that your recovery will be steady and as pain-free as possible. Best of luck! :)

We sure do miss you! Love, hugs, prayers and healing thoughts on the way from Tucson.

I assume you have a few medical people to send to Polly's gators? I know she will be happy to oblige, spring break and the tourist season are over, and those gators get mighty hungry!

Glad you're home! Hospitals just seem too dangerous. Got any quilt software? This seems like a good time to doodle with electronic quilts, if you can't doodle with real fabric. (((Hugs))) to you and an extra ((hug)) for Mr. Hunky! Roberta in D
