OT:Sad News

Hello all

I'll be off-line for a couple of weeks. I am off to Michigan as I just found out that my dad (68 years young) died this morning of a heart attack while hunting in Colorado. I'm not much on religion any more but my family and I could sure use your good thoughts at this time.

Thanks

Steve Alaska

Steve, I was much saddened by you news.

My own father died even younger (61yo) many years ago and although time has softened the pain I still feel the loss.

It sounds like your dad was doing something he enjoyed. I hope this was the case.

So very sorry to hear this, Steve. That is a tough piece of news to get. 68 is really not 'aged' at all. The only thing, for the moment, that yo can comfort yourself with, is that your Dad died doing something he loved - no illness, no dementia, no wondering what 'will happen to me'. So, as with most sudden deaths, it was a good thing for your Dad. Try to let this help you, as you get over the shock and the sadness kicks in. . In message , steve writes

There are no good words to make you feel better, but prayers on the way for you and the rest of you family. Losing your parent is very sad. :-(

Oh Steve, I am so sorry. Religion doesn't have much to do with it for me either. It's about being there for your family. Hugs and condolences to your entire family. Take care and come back when you can.
