Interesting - I can see your response but not my original post
Oh, poor Santa and friends - but I did have a giggle thinking how some parents were going to explain this pic to their kidlets.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry...so I didn't cry. Ruth Sydney
Cheryl, I have an idea. Of course, I have no clue what I'm talking about - but if you can see the responses to your posts but you can not see your posts, is it somehow possible that your computer has put you on your Blocked Sender list? or something like that? I'm still in the group who wonders why we have to go to 'start' to turn the computer off so I won't be any help . . . just wondering. Polly
Years ago there was a comic that had Santa and the reindeer on a carrier, with Santa chanting take-off gobbledegook. The commentary was by one of the reindeer:
"I know Santa wants to visit all the military
....
but these carrier takeoffs are awful."
And then Santa and the reindeer were catapulted off the carrier!

Polly, I see some of my posts within seconds and others never show up. And I see responses to other posts but not the originating post in the thread. No idea why, but it can make some posts a bit confusing lol
It is so eratic that it is definitely not tied to blocking.
Hi,
Sometimes there are problems with the gateway between the lists and newsgroups - it happens often to me but I just unsubscribe and then subscribe again - and hope like crazy I get all the messages back.
At least I think that is what causes the problem sometimes.
Yes, it's something like that. If it keeps up I will unsub/sub again and just clear the avalanche of messages I get lol
In the meantime I let my imagination fill in the blanks!
On this particular newsgroup, I have 5581 not downloaded. I think they can stay that way for a while.
You are one sick woman, and that's why we love you! Roberta in D, giggling

I have some brilliant cartoons here that I had copied out at A3 size to hang in my old office. Unfortunately I now only have the large versions and I can't scan them. They predate the age of political correctness, but some are -
Santa sitting under a row of mounted deer heads reading a Range Rover catalogue
Father dragging a small boy away from a Santa's grotto with a dazed black-eyed Santa being helped to his feet by a store elf. Caption: "Did you really promise his little boy a pony for Christmas?"
Man selling trees in the snow. Caption: "No I don't enjoy the evergreen's rustic beauty or the fresh pine smell. I just like murdering inferior life forms with an axe."
Sleigh hooked up to a single giant cyclops reindeer. Caption: "Yes, this year we are delivering genetic engineering kits. Why do you ask?"
Reindeer harnessed to sleigh but the last in the row has markings to show ribs, fillet, leg, roast, etc. Caption: "Do you get the feeling Blitzen won't be with us much longer"
There are many many more lol
After the advent of Political Correctness I used to hang a large sign on my gate every year. I had to make copies and leave them in the letterbox after people started coming by and copying it out by hand. It is now available in many forms on the internet, but was first sent to me as a card many years ago.
