Michael's let me done :-(

A few weeks ago I had to make a quick run to Michael's and happen to have DD with me. Of course I couldn't leave the store without a scrapbook section fly-by! LOL! I saw the crop-a-dile hanging on the wall and I pointed it out to my DD. I said, "show this to Daddy. This is what I want for Christmas, and this, and this, and this..."

Let's just say my DH is not a big fan of Michael's...he is more of a Hobby Lobby fan. Well because he loves me so much, he braved Michael's on my behalf. The told him they don't carry the crop-a-dile! Now I'm going to have to go there tomorrow, buy it and give it to DH to wrap... (just like the sweater he gave me last week) LOL!

In their defense, as a former Michaels seasonal employee, a lot of the staff at this time of year are brand new and aren't as familiar with the inventory. It takes time to figure out where everything is, so to everyone out there shopping at Michaels, have a bit of the forgiving holiday spirit for those kids because that store can be so overwhelming. I had shopped at mine for years before working there and I still didn't know half the stuff we carried, lol.

On the other hand, something that surprised me was that during the hiring process they didn't really seem to care if you knew much about crafts. They were much more focussed on things like not being a thief and showing up on time and smiling and being polite. Maybe that's just how they are for seasonal employees, and they care more about crafts knowledge once you move beyond that into full time.

hahaha you're so funny! And I guess I am too... I just bought a jewelry box for myself. DH said I shouldn't be buying stuff for myself this close to Christmas. I said that I had thought about that, but the jewelry box was from "Sam's Club". He doesn't have a card to get in there, so I had to buy it. I told DH he could count it as my Christmas present.

You should have sent DD with him. LOL Except, if she's like my DD....she might have a hard time keeping a secret.

I was looking for the white ProvoCraft purse tins last year. I called Michaels and the person on the phone said they had them. Went down there when I got a chance a couple days later, and couldn't find them. Asked a worker, who said they didn't carry them, never had carried them. So it's not just you! LOL

No need to defend Michael's...they are my favorite LSS. DH just has different experiences when he goes. I'm Michael's, he's Hobby Lobby. I'm Wal-Mark, he's Target. LOL

We did stop in yesterday and they had a dozen. I also picked out some basic metal and colored star eyelets. At the check-out my DH informed the cashier. She responded that she was sorry that she didn't wait on him because she knew they carried it.

On the way home, I pulled the crop-a-dile out to read the instructions. DH said, "Hey! you can't do that! Put it back!" LOL

I have a crop-a-dile ! I just have to way to 12/25 to use it!
