OT: The Kings Speech movie recommendation

We saw this movie today to break up a bitter cold and snowy day. I can understand why it's received such accolades. My husband went reluctantly and came away impressed. Terrific acting by the two lead actors. There's very few movies I can get lost in but, this was one of them. If you get a chance to see it, you should. Donna

Totally agree. Dragged Bert to it over Christmas Break and we both loved it. Such a wide range of emotions you go through watching it. Would love to see it again.

I agree - one not to be missed. It was in our cinema for a week and was completely sold out, but they have managed to get it again for a week at the end of the month, and will go again then.

DH said it wasn't very long, but then looked at his watch and saw that it had held his attention so much he hadn't realised how much time had passed.

Apparently the Queen enjoyed it too!

I agree with you and Steven. A wonderful movie to make you laugh and cry a bit, too. Just a great movie that everyone would enjoy. I'm one of those people who never really remember names of actors so for those who are the same, Colin Firth who plays the King is the same man who was the Dad in Nanny McPhee. The man who played his "Dr." is the guy who plays the already dead pirate (Jack Sparrow's nemesis) in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The woman who plays the Queen Mum (and does a GREAT job of catching her mannerisms) is the woman who played that nasty, evil witch who escaped from the big prison in the last Harry Potter movie -- Bellatrix "Somethingorother". Of course, all of that will only help those who go to the movies a lot :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<
