OT: the results

As promised, here is the outcome from my recent melanoma surgery on

12/31/08.

Stitches [all 34] came out today. Whew, what a relief. The second pathology report shows the skin and tissue taken indicate Stage II. [First biopsy came back Stage I.] There is an appointment with the dr early next week to review everything. He is still in Vietnam on a mission with Interplast

and will return thisweekend.

So, my attitude is good. No, I didn't do an emotional eating binge. I came home and had a big bowl of salad.

I'll clue you in next week. Don't be concerned if I coccoon a bit and dont' post too much for this next week.

Ginger, I'm sure that news scares you so that you can barely breathe - but know that DH and I have been battling malignant melanoma since 1983 - and we've lived to fight another day. They have made just so very much progress in how to survive this nasty business - they truly have. We will certainly be holding you close in our hearts and up in our prayers. Polly

Ginger - take care and know that we are all rooting for you. You can be sure somebody will say "Where's Ginger?" if you are too quiet for too long - not nagging but just being concerned friends.

Stronger prayers on the way. It's time to get St Jude (Patron of Hopeless Cases) in on the scene. I call on him when I don't get the results *I* think I should have.

We call on him for anything from wanting to get pg to harsher illnesses than we anticipated to a safe journey. He's kinda an all around Saint.
