OT - What's on your computer screen when you boot up?

Around this time of year, I start to search for that perfect Christmas wallpaper for my PC. Wallpaper is what you see when you boot your PC up - it is where the icons live, lots of them if your screen is anything like mine.

But, at the holidays, starting with Halloween, I search hither and yon for great and creative wallpaper. I currently have a scanned copy of a Christmas card I received several years ago with two beatiful Westie faces inside of a decorated Christmas wreath with a big plaid bow. It looks more like an oil painting than a photograph which gives it a vintage look. So, here's my question:

Today, what's on your computer screen when you boot up?

I download the monthly calendar from piecepatcher.ca

She designs them in EQ 6 and they are always very nice.

I use photos I have taken. Currently it's a picture of the crucifix in our church.

DH takes photos of my flowers in the garden and changes the wall paper to a different one of those every month or so. It usually works out pretty well. When I was out of town a couple of weeks ago he changed the wallpaper to a shot of the whole garden. That's ok but there I am in the photo. So there is a picture of me on my wallpaper right now. I am not enjoying it at all! I am headed out of town again Thurs. and hopefully I'll get back to a better photo. Taria

I have a very nice pic of Cornflake, The Thickest Cat in the Known Universe. Makes porridge look inteligent... He's booootiful and adoreable and cute - but thick!

It's about time I swapped it for one of his sister.

I have a picture of a winter pond scene that I took a couple of Thanksgivings ago when visiting my sister.

I don't change it often. On this machine, an aerial view of cloud tops on the left monitor and a photo of a tornado about to smash into some farm buildings on the right one. On Marion's Mac Mini, a pond entirely covered with bright green weed with an alligator just breaking the surface.

I have a set of photos that randomly change from one to another. The photos include shots of my grandchildren, my dogs (past and present), and places DH and I have visited. :)

I was looking at Debbie Mumm's site the other day when the subject came up here and she had some cool wallpaper.

My desktop is now a snowman with skis. I guess I should change it to one of her Christmas ones.

Normally, it's just a plain Windows XP blue. I have so many shortcuts on there, that it's hard to read them with a papered desk top.

You all have such interesing wallpaper on your computer. On my XP box I have one of the default pictures, looks like a picture taken at Niagra falls or something like that, though strangely enough, I have a bunch of more interesting and personalized pictures I could use. I guess I just don't put much of a priority on changing the wallpaper. My Linux box has the default Uubuntu background, just pretty much orange. On the laptop that I use, which is technically my dad's, there is a picture of my brother, my sister and me when we got together a few years ago at either Christmas or thanksgiving. The only problem is that at the time I weighed about 210, and right now I am hovering at about 180

Used to be Webshots, but now my Grandaughter smiles at me. Makes me happy to sit in front of the computer!

Just the default blue for me. I always have my most-used windows maximized, so I never see the background anyway.

Very cool site! (but if I started to do that I'd spend too much time trying to decide which one to pick!)

So at work I stick with a picture of one of my quilts and at home I have a picture of a balcony in New Orleans that is overflowing with flowers (taken during a pre-Katrina visit).
