Welcome, Anthony, to our SABLE group - which indicates that our stash exceeds our life expectancy - and probably several others. Certainly you qualify. I wish I could share with you my stash since it is sorted much differently. I don't know that you'd be comfortable with my system. Mine has sub-sorts to: fun, floral, animal, dots, stripes, crazy, special (which includes some neons and some Michael Miller sparkles) and a new group that was recently given to me. It is named 'peace' because it contains very calm, soothing 'looks like' crushed pale neutral silks. Some of my neutrals are as warm as hot buttered toast. Ask your wife if she will arrange a play date for us. I'm basically harmless and I'll bring lunch. Polly

Hey Polly, find out the local of his stash, & he'll have more than gremlins in his sewing room

Nana ducking & running.........c'mon Polly!!

We could work that out. He's in Tampa Bay, methinks. I have family in Bradenton and an island out from there and then there's our Patti from Seattle who's new to the area. Yes. We could do that. Polly

"Nana.Wilson" Hey Polly, find out the local of his stash, & he'll have more than gremlins

Polly, Sweetie!! I KNOWS just where Tampa bay is!! Holy Moly!! My Dh & I frequent Florida on a yearly basis (to escape the cold in Maryland) :-)

Nana......Packing all ready (remember to take lots of EMPTY cases!!)

What???! I was talking about my STASH, Polly. What did you think I was talking about, huh, HUH?

I may have a little more than that in total... But most of mine is clothing fabric. Here you go:

After re-organization and repacking last year, and adding some more this year, the count is...

48lt crates: 8 green crates of polar fleece 4 green crates of fabric for making bags with the kids... 2 crates of fabric/projects for my friend Julie 2 crates of interfacing 2 crates of quilting cottons 1 crate of batting 2 crates of garb fabric for historic costumes 2 green crates of coathangers 15 crates of garment fabric... 1 crate of projects/fabric abandoned by customers! 2 crates of curtain fabric 1 crate of sofa-covering fabric

smaller crates:

12 red crates of patterns 2 red crates of magazines 4 crates of smaller bits of garment fabric 1 crate of skirt hangers! 1 crate of bags! 1 crate of Christmas stockings! 1 crate of craft fair admin (I'm sure there are a few more I have forgotten!)

Odd bits:

1 roll 36" wide black cotton velvet! 1 roll of chair-covering velvet! A hop basket of interfacing rolls and other stuff like lining... 1 large blue Ikea bag of unsorted bits! 1 cake box of shoulder pads etc. several shoeboxes of unsorted patterns... 2 clothing rails not errected) 4 dressmaker's dummies...

This does not include the quilting UFO's, buttons, zips, needles, etc that live in the sewing room, nor the 20 sewing machines...

And this is the thread stash:

hmmm...... I think not. My stash wouldn't even fill half of one of those pictures. It's too shy to let me post it on the internet. lol

I'm about to give up on our Webmaster. she HAS been that ill...so it's taking a bit longer than we anticipated to get done.

I'll make chocolate cake.

Ohhhhhh! C'mon we're all friends here.

You're smart. My advice to new quilters is to NOT buy fabric that don't already have a project for. Obviously, I'm much better at giving good advice that at keeping it.

And NONE of it is prewashed...

Part of my rationals is that the more fabric I have, the longer I have to live so I can use it all. I can't leave a single scrap. DW has already warned me that she's burying whatever is left with me.

There are some older pictures of my stash here. Though there is one newer picture of my closet. I didn't realize how much I've added in the past couple of years!
