OTOTOT Well-fitting jeans

I know we talked about this awhile back but this weekend it finally happened for me.

I found a pair of jeans that fit.

I am short, round, no butt, skinny legs. If I get jeans big enough in the waist, they bag and sag in the rear and the thighs. If they fit well in the rear and thighs, there is no way they are fastening around the waist. You get the idea.

There is a store called "Chico's". Apparently they are all over the place, but I was in KC at the Plaza this weekend and followed a friend in who is familiar with the store. I stood politely by while she tried on clothes "knowing" that nothing in the store was going to fit me. She said, here try these jeans. I'm like that girl in that diet commercial where she tries on a swim suit and screams in the dressing room. "Hey! I look Good!"

I bought 2 pair. DD even declared them "Not Mom Jeans!"

I'm hooked. And thrilled because apparently there is a store not 30 miles from me that I never even saw before. I am buying every pair they have.

Commercial over. Cindy

It's a wonderful feeling to find something that fits! WOOHOO for you!!! I am very short-waisted and these very low rise jeans that are so popular (the ones with the 3-4 in. long zippers!) come almost up to my waist. The problem is there is no waist in them- obviously- so they will slide right back off of me. I just take a few small darts around the waistband and they fit. I am also buying up all the jeans I can fiind. And I have BIG feet, so I love the flared-leg jeans that cover those gun-boats of mine! LOL

I love, love, love Chicos! And - their jeans are my favorite. I'm 6' tall & they even make some of their jeans in tall sizes! I have found that their jeans run very large, so I drop down a couple of sizes to get the right fit for me.

Glad you discovered Chicos. If you sign up for their Passport program, you'll get a coupon about one a month or so for anywhere to 50% off, with minimum purchase to $25 off $100 purchase. There is an outlet about an hour from me that I get to once in awhile & the bargains are not to be believed, but they always have great sales in the stores as well.

NAYY, just a Chico's fan!

You are not alone. Mine are 11 wide.

You can have all the low rise jeans though.

I have serious thighs and hinney, but a narrow waist. I recently found perfectly fitting khaki pants and bought 3 pair. Hate the color, but love the fit. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Can you help me with a website address? I did a search and mainly came up with Target and ebay. I am in Idaho so there is probably not a store I can walk into, but maybe I could try an online puchase. I have a problem with big waist and skinny everywhere else. TIA

They make about 3 different fits for all our different shaped bodies. NAYY I have to work hard at finding pants for tall, so I'm always exploring!

jeans are more often than not made of cotton

Actually Jess, with the stretch denim phase that was all the rage here in the US, it was getting hard to find just cotton jeans. And I really like just plain cotton jeans...... which I have found a couple of this spring!
