Penny Haren's book

Has anyone seen it? Pieced Appliqué.

You start with a foundation block and appliqué shapes or even pieces of other blocks directly onto the foundation block.

You can turn a pinwheel foundation block into an Lemoyne star. With no "Y" seams.

I can't explain it, but I can tell you this is really cool.

Think layers.

Plus, you can print out the appliqué templates directly from her website onto freezer paper. I really love that. You use a glue stick to turn the edges of the appliqué.

Have someone demonstrate if you see this book in a shop. I wish there was a video online.

It's funny this post showed up today. I met an old acquaintance in Joanns today. She does wonderful appliqué-the harder the better for her. She said she'd signed up for a 2 YEAR class with Penny. It meets once month and instead of being a block of the month, it's several blocks a month. I guess the finished quilt is huge. Gen
