Photos of the Disney Princess "Comforter"

Nov 21, 2006 15 Replies

Hi Guys, I just uploaded a photo of the comforter top made of the Disney Princess fabrics. It's in the Sewing album at Webshots (link is in the sig line). It's not basted, etc. yet -- waiting for the backing fabric to get here from fabrics.com. They had 110" wide sheeting in a pale pink for $8.99 so I bought several yards and will use that -- should get here today. It'll make nice top sheet too -- with a border of one of the Princess fabrics I bought. I have also uploaded a photo of the window topper made of that darling scalloped border print -- the only one that is really nice fabric. I have just a tiny bit of that border left -- too bad :-)! I'm going to troll eBay just in case I can find some more. Not sure just what I will do with it -- maybe make a top sheet for the SMDGD! Lastly, there is also a photo of this years Christmas Dress. I keep thinking it needs something at the neck but everyone who sees it says it's fine. I dunno -- I keep wanting to put a button or a bow or something on it -- LOLOL! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Link worked for me.......it is much slower if you click on the picture.....click on the title and it comes up well......

Love the dress!!

Love the comforter!!

Can I send you a couple of projects??...............beautiful work.

I'm getting a proxy error, no matter what I click on. But the same thing happened with Leslie's webshots, too, so I'm guessing webshots is having tantrums today. :S

I couldn't get it earlier on, Sandy; but I tried again just now and it worked fine - quickly too! So have another go. I did get Leslie's OK. These things can be so irritating - especially when, like me, one doesn't have a clue what they all mean >gg< . In message , Sandy Foster writes

I sent Webshots a nasty gram about the new set up of the site. Uploading photos is better but managing the albums is a total P.I.T.A.! The Sewing Album is new -- I created it specifically for this stuff when I was uploading the photos. There are prompts and windows for doing just this when you upload photos. Well, when I went to look at the Sewing Album, it wasn't there but I did find the photos in an album that Webshots decided to add ANd they put a quilt photo in it! I could find NO WAY to create a new album so I just changed the name of the one that Webshots added. Then I wanted to delete the quilt photo since it is in the Quilt Album. I can find NOTHING that tells me how to delete a photo! I'm really starting to get ticked off! The site "improve" their stuff so that the techno-dweebs are happy with it but us ordinary folks have to try and figure out just what it is we are supposed to be able to do with all this now and improved crap they have added -- or deleted!!!!! Speaking of adding, I finished the pillow sham that goes with the comforter and have added photos of that. Also, I saw the UPS truck on the street earlier so maybe my backing fabric was delivered!! Mary, I was finally able to get in and see your thing! Yay! And they're

*wonderful*! What a lucky little girl your DGD is to have you making her such fun things for her bedroom. :)

"comforter" looks just fine. glad my DD didn't see it or she would have demanded one as well. The dress is gorgeous. I would NOT add anything else to it. The overlay fabric has enough detail in it, and to add anything else, might make it a bit garish. Lovely, and what a lucky little girl!!

I'm not a techno dweeb, but I do like to know what new buttons do. I can help with the delete problem.

Go to your webshots home page. Click on the album. Now you can see all the pictures in that album. OK, notice the little X in the little black boxes at the bottom right hand corner of all the pictures? To delete a picture just click on the X at it's bottom RH corner. Zap, it's gone. MAJOR Problem -- there is NO little X at the bottom of my photos any more! There is a zero (which I assume means there are no messages for the photo) and the icon for leaving a message and that's it! ALL of my albums are that way and for this I pay a premium membership price! The nasty gram stands and they'll be getting another one tomorrow if I don't hear back from someone soon! I am NOT a happy camper!!! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Well, see, I do garish quite well -- LOL! That's why I always want to add just a little bit more :-)! DD says if I was gonna be buried and not cremated, she'd make sure that "...Let me add just a little bit more..." was engraved on my tombstone -- LOLOL! That overlay is the fabric that the SMDGD picked out herself, too! Has lots of nice, sparkly glittery stuff on it -- I LIKE IT!!! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

You had the Xs and they disappeared. Arg, how awful for you. A paid member certainly should be able to edit the pictures. Debra in VA See my quilts at

I have the zero under each photo too, but on the bottom right hand side of each photo, actually on the picture itself so a bit hidden if the photo is dark, is the magic cross. If you prod it with your 'pointer' it says 'delete this photo'.

Hope this helps.

Wow! VVEERRYY gurlie! Not sure I could be as brave as you and sew that lot! Beautifully done. She'll love them.

Love the comforter and shams and the dress is sooo pretty. What a lucky DGD!

The comforter is about to go through a growing spurt! I got it pin basted on Thanksgiving day (didn't have to cook!) and then put it aside. in the meantime, DD lets me know that the SMDGDs bed is already converted to a Toddler size (none of us were aware of this) and the next conversion to a "big girl" bed isn't to a Twin but to a Full size! This means all of the bedding I have already bought and sent to DD has to be either resold or returned. Add to that, we offered to chip in some $$ for the purchase of the stuff (basically, we thought it would be some sort of frame thing) needed to switch the crib to the Toddler bed. DD had to purchase a Full bed frame, mattress & box springs! That was an expense neither of us contemplated but had to be done as the SMDGD was promised a "non-crib" type bed -- like mommy & daddy's and the one GrandMother & GrandFather use. Returning the bedding is the easy part. I now have to add about 10" to all four sides of the comforter and make another sham because this stuff will now be the primary bedding! I shall do this in my spare time

-- in between decorating the house, going to HIlton Head for our anniversary, attending DHs office gatherings, etc.! VBS it would have been much easier to do from the start. I don't nave enough of any one fabric left so I will cut everything into long narrow pieces and make a big pieced fabric border out of it. I'll see if I can purchase more of the sparkly purple that I used in the first border. If so, I will make another outer border out of it. I also now need to make a pleated bed skirt out of the pink sheeting I bought. I'm going to bid on more of the scalloped fabric I used for the window topper and sew that around the bottom of the skirt. I am also bidding on a reversible solid color comforter -- purple/lilac. I have some of the fabric printed in squares and will cut those out and appliqué them to both sides of the comforter. This will be the "backup" comforter for when the other one has to be laundered. I HATE having this "emergency" stuff tossed in my lap at the last minute! I have all of my time between T-day and Christmas planned out carefully so that I can get everything done! Now I have to either stay up later than I should or get to work earlier than I like in order to get it all done, NOT a happy camper, to say the least. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
