To keep this on topic I just wanted to say that I did get a really nice piece of red/white check fabric in a size of checks that I haven't been able to find here. I plan to make either placemats or napkins to match the curtains for my kitchen. Don't know why I decided to do my kitchen in red and white but I did. Anyway, I found lots of really nice fabric in a couple of different stores but Roberta was right. Sticker shock!!!! We had so much fun though just touring the city with Roberta and seeing sights that you wouldn't get to see on a "guided tour" such as the one we did on Sunday.

Roberta we just can't thank you enough for spending the day with us. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed your company so much.

Kim, Thank you for posting your vacation pictures. My late husband was in the Army and we were stationed in Munich many years ago, 1970. Your pictures brought back so many memories for me. I'm posting some of my old pictures to the web, just to share.

There was, then, a wonderful fabric shop, 3 or 4 floors with all types of fabric, in Munich near the Frauenkirche, I wasn't quilting then, but made my and the girls clothes. I know it's surely not there after all these years. Germany is really beautiful. We were there again, in Heidelberg, for six months in 2003.Thanks, Michelle G.

Piggybacking here. Kim, it looks like you had a wonderful visit, and getting to meet Roberta must have been the icing on the cake. :)

Michelle you're pics are beautiful. Munich is really beautiful and the castles are just amazing. We only saw them from a distance as I just couldn't make the trek up the hill to visit one. I miss Germany already and never thought I would feel that way about it.

Oh we are seriously thinking about it in a couple of years maybe. A friend and her husband want to come with us sometime. He was also stationed in Germany when he was in the Army. So you may be seeing us back again sometime.

Oh yes. We had a very wonderful time and meeting Roberta was the icing on the cake. I wish we would have had more time and I had a better back. We want to go back again sometime when we can be more relaxed and see more of Germany. There is a story behind all the Elvis bear pictures too. I can't remember if I ever explained that or not.

Elvis was kidnapped from a woman who works in an office in Omaha, Nebraska. He is being held for ransom and while he's being held, he is traveling around the world with different people. To keep him from being found, when he returns from one trip he is sent on to another person to go somewhere else. I have taken a bunch of the pics from Germany and made them into an album on Snapfish to send back with him to document his trip to Germany. The lady who kidnapped him is going to make a powerpoint presentation of all his travels and present it to the office employees and see who will pay the ransom or something like that. It was fun traveling with him. We sure got a lot of funny looks though.
