polyptych!

I forget who was asking for the word for something like a triptych but with more panels - dunno how I missed this, but it's a "polyptych".

The word implies many folds or hinges rather than many panels, though. A book is a kind of polyptych.

So should we be calling an object with three panels and two folds a diptych or a triptych?
