My SDIL asked me to make a padded bag/cover for her marble pastry bag. Unfortunately, it was placed on the back burner during the winter, but I finally managed to get most of it done before heading north. Just finished it this morning. Pictures are in the 2009 album.

I love to do 3 dimensional articles and I this, your pastry board bag, is marvelous. I loved the brush handles, and the whole thing is both colorful and useful. Great work.

This one took me a while. I first was wondering just how old SDIL was if she's still playing with marbles (which is perfectly all right with me.) I advanced to marble pastry as in marble slab for making candy and pastry that enjoys a cold surface. Susan, my marble slab for good stuff like that weighs so much that I have to go find a strong fellow to put it on the counter for me. (Never a problem since they all are pushovers for candy and pie.) Still, I'm not there yet. Are you telling us that SDIL is going to place her marble slab in that beautiful bag and hang it on the wall? Puzzled. Polly

Thanks John. It was DH's idea to use the pastry brushes for handles. It heads to its new owner on Tuesday.

Thanks. I had the border stripe fabric for about 10 years before the right inspiration hit! I think the wait was worthwhile!

No, she just wanted a padded container to protect it when it was stored beside the kitchen cabinet. I just had to have some fun with it! She works out and has great muscles for lifting it!

I was probably being just over-cautious, Susan. My mad hunter neighbor gave me an 18 point buck to mount on the wall in my sewing room. He is a very handsome fellow (the buck) and I enjoy accessorizing him for holidays. Just now, he's wearing a lovely bonnet with silk roses and big red wax lips for Mother's Day. Anyhow, we've noticed that the wall he occupies is becoming slighted bowed. Polly

Susan, you just gave me sooooo much inspiration for keeping my stash..... So, if we keep stuff (er, stash) long enough, it will eventually find a project to be used in????? (Judy says hopefully!)

Your cover was fantastic! You did a great job! So creative! (I didn't know you could lift a marble board!) AND I, like Joan, love your Baltimore Blues quilt!
