Is this a business that has some connection to quilting?

Yep. Primedia is a publisher. I think they just got sold to someone.??? They publish several quilt magazines including Quilter's Newsletter and Quiltmaker.

I was just looking at the brochure I picked up at the Roseburg quilt show and one of the companies donating door prizes was Primedia.

I visited their offices in Boulder CO last spring. The had a wonderful display of quilts in the lobby, and since it was a quiet day, we poked our heads into some of the office areas where quilts were displayed everywhere. I even managed to get several free pins!

Primedia used to own Quilters Newsletter (originally owned by the Leman family), Quiltmaker, McCalls Quilting, and McCalls Quick Quilts, plus Sew News.

I did a Google search and found this information:

Through December QNM says "published by Primedia." The Jan/Feb issue says, "published by CK Media," giving the Golden, CO, address.

Is this company involved in something quilty?

I got an email from them yesterday entitled GUNS AND AMMO. Let me tell you, between one thing and another, that was NOT a good topic sentence to send me in an email!

Between Va Tech and the deaths in Iraq and my aging-hippie attitude toward guns and ammo and war, it was a major mistake to write that to me, no matter what the following subject matter.

Anyone else get that?

The reason I asked was that yesterday I got an email from Primedia. The subject line was GUNS AND AMMO. Never mind the message, that was the wrong way to approach this aging hippie on any topic. They mis- judged their audience in this case.

Did anyone else receive that email?

joan p.s. I want you to know that I've made several absolutely brilliant posts which aren't showing up in the newsgroup. You won't know what you've missed!

I got an email from them entitled GUNS AND AMMO. Disregarding the message entirely, that's the wrong intro to use with an aging hippie like me. Between Va Tech and Iraq, the last thing I want to read is GUNS AND AMMO in my incoming email.
