I do buy online occasionally, but I only buy when I want particular colours in a range of fabrics that is known to me eg Fossil Fern or Moda Marbles. You must also be aware that colours as shown on your screen may vary from the actual colour. Nothing one can do - usually it works just fine. I just this week made a wrong choice with a Moda marble red: no one's fault, just unlucky. All the other colours I ordered, at the same time, were just fine. . In message , youngcarter333 writes
Pat is correct- your monitor may not show the actual color so matching is difficult. If you order fabrics from a collection from one designer/manufacturer for your project you will be fine since they are designed to coordinate with each other. But those fabrics in the collection may turn out to be slighly different colors from what your monitor showed. If you stick with the known 'brand names' of fabrics the quality is seldom an issue. Any deep colors should be prewashed since even good quality fabric may have excess dye in it- many of us prewash *all* fabrics just to be safe. It will remove any dust/dirt, excess dye, pre-shrink, etc.

Howdy!
Amen! Like Roberta, I often buy fabric online. So far, no problems. We can list our favorite vendors if you wish; that will take a few pages.
