Yuppers, it IS On Topic.
You'all know that SIL is here to help out (TG for that!!!) whilst Mr. Joe recuperates......well.......we do MORE than baby-sit.
Yesterday we cut and sewed 200 8" squares for her Mission quilts. We got into the fabrics that 'I inherited' when we purchased this house plus some others that she brought and set to cutting and sewing. One piece had 12 different sized pieces in it of all the same fabric. She takes the same fabric to make a square using up every last usable piece (I was even sewing
3/4" to get the last corner:) Once she gets back 'home' she'll take it to the "Quilting Church" (They let everyone that needs to use their set-up as it's a small community), the gals will put them on the design wall and then get to sewing. They 'birth' them or take the backing fabric to the front for the binding , tie them, and then send them out to the 'request for the month'. She figures we have enuf for 3 quilts. We even worked in the Studio on Thursday, then the painter came yesterday and he'll be done today. Fumes will be too strong for us to work in there for a few days. Monday, the carpet gets here.......then the trim.....Stay tuned for Moving In Day details............
Mr. Joe is doing quite well for all he's been thru--actually is doing much better than we had anticipated.
