Quilty Christmas

Leigh, if you're going to start paper piecing, you might want to join Carol Doak's Yahoo group, where there's lots of support and fun stuff going on.

I am so jealous of all your quilty gifts! I got not one thing quilty this Christmas. Not one! I did however get a ring, a massage chair, and some awesome other stuff too ;-) but not one quilty item... ~KK in BC~

Howdy!

I made sure Santa brought another package of fat quarters from Keepsake Quilting's 20th Anniversary Scrap Bag sale. ;-D Today the fabric is being washed and dried and fondled, sorted into "gotta' have it" and "baseball swap" piles. Another thimble came w/ this pkg, to join the quilty calendar that came earlier in the month. KQ's fq deal is wonderful, $1 per first-quality, top-grade fq:

  1. DSon2 gave me:
  • one set of 4 FQ ... dark Amish solids by VIP Cotton;
  • one yard piece of turquoise print with info on selvage 'The Mighty Jungle (C) Print Concepts Inc (I was not familiar with that company, but the cloth has a good feel and look.)
  • one year subscription to magazine called 'Fabric Trends'
  1. Santa gave some chocolate novelties.
  2. DSis2 gave me SIX bars Godiva Very Dark Chocolate. That's all for the quilt related things. I will add that with the new clothes and bling I also received, I will look smashing while I do stash raids!

When I bought my new Bernina in April I told my husband that it would be my birthday present. He responded that it would be a present for every occasion for several years. I don't know how long he intends to count the Bernina as the gift but he did mention as we opened our presents that my real present was my machine. This time he didn't take a part of the machine and wrap it. For both my birthday and anniversary he secretly took something related to the machine and wrapped it.

He did give me chocolate to eat while quilting and two DC's to listen to while quilting. No one in the family gave me a quilt picture wall calendar this year so I guess I will have to buy my own with the bookstore gift certificate my son gave me. A dear RTCQ friend did send me the "Block and Pattern-a-Day" calendar which sits on my desk.

I am look>What quilt related things did you get for the holiday?

Howdy!

100 fq for $99--- go for it, Susan!

Ragmop/Sandy--aiding and abetting or at least pushing and encouraging... ;-D

p.s. receiving fabric we wouldn't usually choose ourselves is a good way to stretch some boundaries and let in a little fresh air-- and you can always recycle in a swap ;->

Certainly is tempting, but I just returned from a storewide 30% sale at my LQS "Quilts on Plum Lane", in Dade City FL. Managed to get out under $200, but I found the perfect fabric to back the quilt I'm making for DS1 and DDIL! The place was crazy, but lots of fun! DH and I don't do Christmas gifts, but he does get me a quilt calendar every year. We treat each other to gifts, just for no reason at all!

EQ 6 Upgrade was under my tree.

Also, I got some Carol Doak PP paper and two of her books!

Now if only some of those promised extra 3 hour segments will come my way as well!

Absolutely Nada! But I did get a new cookbook (Donna Hay - a bit pretentious for my liking but some nice recipes), a couple of good reading books, a new t-shirt, handbag, some sneakers, and a new hairdryer thingy. All in all - very happy.
