Thank you so much for the thought. I did pick up a 1958 Singer recently from the school garage sale so will see how that goes. I may be able to pick a walking foot for that...time will tell

Sugar (QI) loves to sleep behind the SM. When she tires of trying to catch the thread she snores for hours. It is funny how she knows exactly where I need to work next. Always in the way. Great company and a great admirer of anything soft and quilted. Welcome to Quiltland. Nana

My five Janomes over the past years- not quite that old, I'll admit- have all been perfectly happy with generic low shank model walking feet that have sold new any where from $12-18 (American) as long as I wasn't too rough on the walking feet. If someone is asking $100- they are crooks....... IMNSHO/YMMV.

RCTQ- Houston 2004..... A good friend will come and bail you out of jail.... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn... that was fun!"
I'm talking $A and I think there was another foot, i must admit to not looking really closely because I didn't have the $100 starting price.

Welcome Lynn! The huge advantage of the cyber world is that all those people out there will never know whether I'm a complete fake (unless they take the trouble to come visit :-). At least you admit to not making a quilt yet -but we all had to start somewhere, and this is a pretty good place for support in your new addiction. Roberta in D
You might try Ebay under Bernina. I saw some real Bernina WF that started at $20. That way you can control how much you want to spend on it. I would only buy the Bernina foot. It really is the way to go. JMHO, Linda
