Sewing Machine Score!!!

"It is necessary to regulate the presser foot when sewing heavy or thin material. Pressure is increased by pushing down the bar (button) to sew heavier material. To decrease pressure, push down the knurled part and the bar (Button) will be lifted. Then get the proper pressure by pushing down the bar again to the adequate pressure"

This from the manula i got with mine. Her name is Scout after the Jeep Scout DH used to have, same blue/teal color!

Look at the link that was posted here earlier for the Precision machine. Go to page thirteen of that thumbnail, it talk about the machine and oiling.

Sure was wierd to see my manual there like that, same pictures and everything!

:-) That was a VERY helpful link. I think what threw me off was the singers saying to lube the motor.... so I'm guessing this means I don't have to lube the actual motor! Yippeee!! I can sew!! Thanks Ginger!!!

Jan, that is gorgeous. I see those from time to time, but not for $5!!!

That's what is often called a 'model 15 clone' meaning it's a made-abroad version of the model 15 Singer. Don't forget to take all the cover plates off, inc. the needle plate, and give it a good cleaning and oiling. Inspect the wires, sometimes these old wires are tired and brittle...don't want a jolt!

If you didn't get a manual, you can use Singer's model 15 manual available for free, here:

Good luck with it!!

There are some motors with grease tubes, for example my oldest =46eatherweight has these and every now and then the grease needs replenishing. But if yours doesn't have them, don't put any oil or grease near it :)
