Singer 99K

I recently acquired a Singer 99K, and it is absolutely wonderful to use! Through a variety of E-Bay sellers I have the machine, case, manual, repair manual, and complete set of attachments, and am delighted. For a total investment of under $100 I now have a small machine that I can set up on my dining room table, store easily, and use without much fuss. It is very similar to my mother's Singer I learned to sew on years ago, and is confortable to use. I oiled it according to the manual's instructions, and it just hums along! I made a dust cover for when it sits out overnight, and am finishing a matching tote bag for the manuals, attachments, bobbins, etc. I will probably use it primarily for piecing, so I don't really need the attachments, but thought they were worth getting anyway if for no other reason than to have the complete stuff. What a treat!

Mine is also a treat to use. I have quite a few attachments.

Mine is known as the Frankensinger, built as it is out of the corpses of

2-3 others after an accident with a crane and a ship...

Congratulations, Mary! I have a handcrank version of the same machine. Sadly, it doesn't get as much use as it deserves, but it's a good machine. :)
