storms and tornadoes

There has been so much damage we see on the news. Is everyone out there ok? The fires in Texas affecting anyone. It is a wild time in the south. I just hope the rctq folk and their family are safe. Taria

I'm in GA and there was a lot of real devastation here. I'm really lucky that my neighborhood didn't seem to have much damage except for a few small limbs falling on lawns and streets. It was a scary night!

Howdy!

Ah, those wildfires: last week we had a yellow day. It all looked yellow, outdoors. The winds from the west were blowing the smoke 50-100 miles in our direction. Unbreathable out there. Most of what we got was from Possum Kingdom Lake fires.

Rather reminded me of living in the Bay Area; smoke from across the Bay blew in all that smoke & ash; in San Mateo we had no a/c; made it bad even for those who were not on fire.

Those tornadoes blew right by us; my favorite weather phenom., the Urban Heat-Island Effect, kept most of the storm system off the Metroplex, blowing south & north of Ft.Worth/Dallas. It rumbled northeast and hit the "South" so horribly.

Prayers & sympathy to all the witnesses & victims. Mercy.

Including a tornado in a part of Auckland I lived in once.

If you live in Auckland you know a volcanic eruption will go pop sometime. I never heard anybody even think of tornadoes as a possibility.
