Stripes quilt block?

Dear Polly,

Just over two years ago, I posted a link to the pattern for these two christmas calendars

and you replied that you liked the idea of using stripes like that and that someday you would have to use that.

Was that what you were thinking of?

Thank you so much, Hanne, that one does call to my heart - but it requires a little more accuracy/time than I can invest in a NIN quilt - plus the one I was collecting for called for several different stripes. There's a hospital just north of Jackson that's put out a desperate plea for needy preemies - winter's hitting hard here. I have to walk a fine line between hugging those babies with something special and churning out 'gitterdun'. And I am so grateful to get to love the little ones. Polly

i still reckon the hidden wells block done with stripes would work. if too busy for your babys, add a simple square of fabric (solid or something with little texture) between the HW blocks. that way you get the fun of using those stripes without it being so busy. i still dont think the babys mind. someone will help them learn their colours one day from your stripey quilts. j.

I just meant to use the stripes set like that, not the whole thing :-)
