Thank you for all of your help!

A while ago I asked for advice and hints about accurate cutting and seaming. We had a great discussion and I learned many things. I followed all the advice, cut a bit more generously, aimed for a scant quarter inch seam, and I am very happy with the results. I finished my baby quilt top, and all the squares are exactly 5 inches, and the top measures exactly 49 inches!

Here's a link to my finished top, not the best picture, the colors are a bit brighter than they look. Thank you all for your help.

I plan to hand quilt a butterfly, flying in random directions :), in the white squares, outline quilt the bowties, and probably do something like diagonal lines along the border. The hand quilting is my favorite part of the process!

I found a really nice backing fabric, white background with small baby-type items scattered on it.

Thanks so much for all of your compliments!

Felwyn: Excellent! I once made a bow tie quilt in similar colors. I wish I'd thought to add a scrappy border as you did. PAT in VA/USA
