The Incredible Magic Bag

We had just the most fun this morning that I had to share with you all! Maybe some of you have seen that Yin-Yang handbag pattern by Jamie Kalvestran (NAYY). Well, my little girl saw it quite a while ago at the old Connecting Threads retail store (now gone) and it was made up in animal print fabric with the black grid from the Thimbleberries Vintage Stitches line. Very Striking - Very Trendy - at least for a 6 year old. So, we bought the pattern and enough fabric for two bags - one for Chels and one for a friend. In addition to the black grid, I got enough for one side each of a tiger type print for one side, and a leopard type for the other side. I finally got around to getting the bags done up between Friday night and this morning, Sunday. Used up lots of batting scraps along the way, so that is considered a "Good Thing". As today is Chelsea's 7th birthday, we made it her "birthday bag". It's a quite roomy inside and the most amazing thing happened with this magic bag! Every time she set the bag down somewhere, birthday presents kept appearing inside of it! A Barbie watch here, a dolphin necklace set there, color-by-numbers set, dolphin ceramic set, fairy statue, you get the picture. She still keeps peeking in there to see if something else has turned up. Don't you just love the innocence of youth!! Anyway, a great time was had by all. Any of you with little ones - this was great fun - I hope you like the idea! Lorraine in La Center

That's really cool, Lorraine!! I'll bet that Chels was tickled!! (betting that she'll HAVE to look in it at least ten times a day for the next two weeks - just in case!!)
