third chemo

When I feel better I will get out my Pizzelle Iron and make some Pizzelles...I love them with tea...I store mine in the larger metal coffee cans. I should be nice and take some to chemo with me for the doctor and staff. The doctor is Italian and he would love them. I also love to make Rugalach. I buy the cream cheese on sale. I love anything that tastes great with coffee or tea. Pami

aww that's so sad! my dog had a cancer - one that by all rights and normal medical experience should have gone to her breasts but didn't and was oddly enough also benign - weirdest thing the vet ever saw and her Dh who is a Vet at a uni begged to have the tissue sample to test : for free as long as he could have it :-) who am I to refuse such an offer? my dog went on to live another 5 years till her bad heart gave up.

- Poddy is just a DSH foundling (like all my cats, rescued from a harsh life after being abandoned or dumped). She is well over 16yo now and feeling her years a bit. Her excessive weight would not help, but she does not eat much and she is far too old to stress out by segregating her from the other cats to control her diet now. I bought her some horribly expensive diet food and she absolutley refused to eat it. The vet tried to tell me "just leave it there and she will eventually" - yeah, right?! I don't think my vet has ever owned a cat. Even the strays outside that I feed would not eat this diet stuff.

So Poddy just plods from her sunny morning bed on the east side of the house to her sunny afternoon bed on the west side of the house, and then on to her night time bed in front of the heater and then end of my bed. She is happy.

All three of mine love the IAMS in the orange bag!

My Tuppence use to sleep on my hip when I was laying on my side!

Don't you just love to watch a cat dream!

My all dream. They snort and snuffle, and their little paws twitch and they are obviously out big game hunting in the jungle! LOL

Sugar crawls up onto my hip too. That is the highest spot on the bed. I agree that the weight of a cat increases when they sleep. Sugar only weighs about 10lbs awake and at least 15lbs when she dreams. Fiona sleeps at the foot of the bed. In the winter she will snuggle up against the back of my knees for warmth. She is thin and about 8lbs.

LOL - well yeah, I guess so. Although I wonder how much of that is to blame for the current state of my hip joints ROFL

I would rather the cats all found their own beds at night. But they have developed a knack for sneaking up onto the bed without waking me (except Poddy, I take pity on her and sometimes lift her up). I wake to find three cats pinning me in place, and if they don't want to move I am stuck there. Twenty plus pounds on my legs and another 8 or so pounds next to my shoulders is more than I can shift! Boof is the worst. Even shouting at him has no effect. He doesn't even twitch an ear.

In winter this is barely tolerable. But why on earth would they feel the need to sleep there in the middle of summer when ovenight temps are often in the 80s?

And don't even suggest closing the door. This sends Boof demented! He is paranoid about me being behind a closed door. He claws and cries and has done serious damage to doors trying to get them open. This doesn't necessarily mean he wants to be in with me - he just wants the door open.

We once worked with this lady who sandwiched them together with chocolate ...that's double drool....hehehehe!1 I like them dusted with confectioners sugar. This past Christmas and this is no lie...but I went NUTS baking cookies......I made close to 40 different kinds...I didn't buy gifts...they all got cookies. I filled containers full of cookies....I made like 3-4 different kinds from day 10 to the 20th and put all my empty containers on the table and brought out each different cookie and put a few in each of the boxes. I did that until I finished all the cookies and froze what I had left. I just finished my Rugalach the other day...and it was still good in the freezer since Christmas. I am so afraid everybody will want that this year again....but I might do a fudge instead....all different kinds. We should somehow get a cookie exchange going on here come holiday time. I've never hosted any...but if we got boxes of cookies from 12 different people...that would be cool. Pami

My one cat used to have seiszures. That was awful I knew when they were coming on and I physically had to hold Red down so he didn't get hurt. I then had to hold him while he came out of them...he was so pathetic...like he was lost in the woods....or something....and as he got older the seizures became longer and harder. I gave him his meds but old age also kicked in . I feared the most he would die of a seizure in my arms and not come out of it but old age took him at 17. Pami

Exactly...one day Sissy jumped out of her bed and looked around.....I thought maybe she seen my dad's ghost or something!! It was so freaky....fur was up and all!! My birds even freak out at night when nothing is around....clinging to the sides of the cage....I wonder who is walking around my house I can't see!! Pami

Sometimes Fiona and Sugar get "lost" in the house and cry out. It sounds like they are saying "Mom?". DH or I get up and find them. They are always startled. It is so funny. But at some level I like it when that happens, because in the end they need their mommy.

Reese Witherspoon? Hummmm, not sure that's who I picture when I read the books. I picture a Sandra Bullock type. Someone who could gain a little weight now and then...but still be womonly and shapely. Not a string bean is what I'm trying to say I think. A little younger Sandra Bullock would be perfect. She doesn't always seem confidant, but is courageous. Yes, Pami...start with "One for the Money"...just don't read it in church...you'll be laughing out loud at Grandma Mazur's antics. Enjoy! KJ
