I have never read any of these books. Where do I start? What title is "the first"? Oh dear, I can tell I'm about to lose a lot of sleep!! :)

Yup, start with "One for the Money". She does give a fairly good background on the characters in each book, but then you still miss the interactions between them if you skip any. Enjoy! These are lightweight reading, the mystery is just used as an avenue for the characters to have something to do!! OK, that is an oversimplifacation, but I really don't find myself thinking about the mystery much when I'm reading them. KJ

Yes, she did a couple of the audio books, and I do believe that accent is real. And wasn't she a secretary or some such on the Bruce Willis/Sybill Sheppard detective series back in the 80s?

Bummer!! She is Stephanie to me. Hope #11's narrator is as good as C.J. Is she???? I've been thinking that for Lula---the actress, Sherri Shephard. She played Ramona on "Less Than Perfect" on TV. She is the perfect "full figured" woman and has Lula's attitude. I can't picture Joe. Any Italian types come to mind?

Me either, Sunny. But after reading all the posts about them, went to my library website and requested the first two to start with. (Sorry grammar police, LOL)
