UPDATE Re: OT - good thoughts, etc.

I got a new job! I interviewed yesterday, and got the call today. I'll start sometime between Thursday and Monday, depending on when the drug test results come back. It's just the hours I wanted, good pay, and possible basic health insurance. The only drawback is that there's a little bit of a commute, but it's way better than nothing. Now for DH to get a job, and we'll be all set to jet. I'm still going to look for something closer to home, but this will do me just fine. I can almost breathe again.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Commute, shimmute - depending on how you'll be doing it it will provide you with many things. If someone else is driving eg train or bus, you can plan your day/quilt or sew blocks/organise your thoughts by journal writing/catch up on news/music or just plain veg out or if you are driving you can plan your day (have one of those mini-tape recorders), catch up on news/music with the radio or do as I do and daydream/veg out by pretending I'm a glorious pop singer with too much money and too many admirers and sing at the top of my voice (in perfect tune I might add) in the car to my favourite songs. For variety I sometimes sing with the windows up - mostly down though!

Aw, hon, wish i could say it would be sometime soon, but I can't. We can barely afford to live up here right now and CA would kill us, for sure. I'd say move up here, but it's a yucky place to be if you have allergies.

If only it were that easy...LOL. We have a church that we love, and a community of friend support, and my aging parents are nearby. I'm the only child left close enough to care for them if there's an emergency, and right now I just need to do that. I tell you, though, VA was one of our first choices for a next tour, if there'd been one! He's not retired, just getting off active duty. He'll be continuing in the reserves for at least

12 more years (he was older than most when he enlisted.)
