Jeans transend 'clothes!' The only jeans my daughter will wear are Arizona carpenter's, and my DS prefers Levis. They LOVE their jeans and whenever something is torn or worn, they ask good ol' mom to darn/repair them (which of course I do LOL). They don't throw them out until they're beyond repair! (Then I use them to make patches!)

So it was clear that we were all "equal" in terms of amount spent even though the littler kids would have more packages to open. I suspect that similar talks were given to my cousins around the same time.After that, grandma usually made sure that my cousin and I received same or similar gifts (same with my two eldest brothers). So we'd both get jeans for example or a bracelet. It was still "fair" and "equal" just in a different way.
