Wanna Play?

My sister told me this am that they will be heading down to spend time with our cousins in SC - naturally, my first thoughts went to shopping without international shipping! Trouble is, I'm having a hard time deciding on what I want - yeah, right...I've been browsing already and my mind is numb - again. Buckets of jewels (to quote Polly)? - that owl kit which is on sale at Nancy's Notions? every embroidery thread on sale to stock up as well as stabilizers? Fabric? not so much since I did benefit from the 'lost' parcel last month. What's new and desired on your list that I might not have considered or heard about and where can I learn about it? I've got two weeks until they leave which gives me an extra 3days of their travel time for mailing issues. Any and all suggestions are welcome. jennellh

Next on my list is Milliken's Printed Treasures. They're grand for quilt labels as well as putting a picture on a tote or bag; a neat idea for an easy Christmas gift. Do you need: rotary blades, aurifil 50 wt, SM needles? and how about a tiny bottle of Sewer's Aid - that silicone stuff that does such wonders? Polly

They will probably drive right by Gastonia, NC, which is on the way to Greenville. You need to check out the

Should be

It must be really annoying for them having the other site so close in name.

DSisinL went there a couple of years ago for my birthday present and I got 100fqs! All good quality - some I recognised. Must be really cheap as she normally spends equiv. of $40-$50. Here they would have been equiv. of $400 (£2.50 each).

FWIW, I reckon this is as good a place as any to brag that I finally got my inkjet fabric printer sheets on ebay for $ 2.41 per sheet. That's just about half-price. Big thanks to the rctq-er who reminded us to check on ebay. Might even be cheaper than your sister wearing the sheets back through customs. =) Polly

I just got back from Empty Spools at Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA. I discovered 2 (new to me) tools that I just won't be able to survive without! One is a "tool tote" - I think it is probably designed for scrap bookers or maybe beaders, but it is such a cool thing. I have found it at Hancock Fabrics (not Hancock's of Paducah), but would prefer to purchase it locally, if possible. The cool thing about this tool tote is that it has a swivel base - wouldn't that be great on your sewing table? And it has lots of pockets to hold lots of tools!

Product information: Item: Tote-Ally Cool Tote 2 Price: $29.99 To view this item, go to Hancock Fabrics:

The other thing I learned about is the Martelli Cutting Mat -

I'm in love with this mat. The small mat is a perfect size for me - 18 x 34. It is pricey, but it's like getting 2 mats in one. One side is yellow & one side is purple & both sides are gridded. The woman that had it at the seminar said the grid lines are perfectly measured, so you can rely on it when you are measuring. It's REALLY sturdy & if it gets warped, you can leave it in the sun & it will go back to it's original shape. She bought a perfect mat & an imperfect mat & that's how she fixed the imperfect mat. I look at it as getting 2 mats in one. If you have seen the new Gingher cutting mats - which are better than the Olfa's (IMNSHO), the Martelli mat is about 5 levels better than the Gingher. Edna Pearl,

SNAP! Our secret is out!

I am such a sucker for 'useful bags' and boxes that it is no longer funny... though my family think so!

My former loves were pens and pencils, actually stationery in general.

So of course I need something to put them in!

... and all my gadgets!

;)

Ah yes, Pauline - it wouldn't fit on my sewing table though - the table is already piled with useful items which surround the machine and the shelves right next to it are in the same condition - you can see photos of my sewing room here

- it is a little different now though =3D there is lots more stuff since the photo was taken! I checked out the cutting board but I went a little deeper into the website. Did you see this? It looks dangerous! jennellh
