Woohoo.....I got a job!

Oh! Good for you! I usually feel all bruised after a massage, so I don't get them.

Bruised? Try someone else. There are some very gentle forms of massage that feel like you're being touched by a feather almost, and that are very effective, and then there are types that feel like every muscle is being pulled away from the bones!

Mardi, you can't believe how happy I am for you

I had a really deep massage a few weeks ago (I really needed it), and asked for the harder pressure. I did feel beaten up for a few days after, but that was unusual. I just had one last Friday, to get the last of the deep tension away, and it wasn't nearly as hard, and I felt just wonderful afterwards! The woman is new to the place I go to, and I'm so glad I found her! I've had ok massages there before, each time with someone different, trying to find the right match. It's as hard to find a good masseuse as it is to find a good hairstylist (obviously I can't do that, as you can tell from my hair!)

Wow, Mardi, that's great! They must really like your potential to hire you when you haven't learned the language yet. If they think you can do it I think you can just trust that you will be able to. Congratulations!

I wholeheartedly vote for that plan! I get regular massage, and knowing I have it to look forward to helps me live with my pain until then.

Hullo LN It all depends on the massage, honestly. I don't believe in those 'Swedish-type' ones where they pummel you black and blue!!! I go for aromatherapy-type ones where all is gentle persuasion and calm. If you like the idea of massage, try one of those. . In article , "LN (remove NOSPAM)" writes

Actually, it was by a friend who is a massage therapist and I'm sure she would have been more gentle if I had told her, but I thought that was how it was supposed to feel and didn't say anything. I bruise easily and am very sensitive, so I just avoid it.

I go nuts cuz when my hair dresser cuts my hair exactly as I want it I say, "This is it!!!" but she can never seem to dupe it! ARRRGGG! It is always just a little diff and not what I want. Drives me nuts. She gets it right maybe 2-3x a year.

I should! You'd think she could remember what she did last time, but I guess not. Even when I tell her, "You did this" and demo with my fingers, she doesn't get it. I'll have her take my pic with my PDA when she gets it right next time. LOL

Good for you, Mardi! It may help to take along some of those bandages that apply heat to an area and some that are cold. That way you can apply them to the back of your neck, under your hair where no one can see them. They may help reduce inflammation. I use them all the time because I too have arthritis in my neck. Good luck. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
