The rest of the story is . . . . Sarah made a WUH for the office where she used to work. It was beautiful (I got to see it!). So, even though she finally made a WUH, she still considers them WUHs!

Sandy!!! **fanning, dabbing brow** I am humbled, awed and amazed.......well, maybe not all that much, after all Miz Butterfly made a "request" so what else could one *possibly* do? I am somewhat disappointed that the ONLY one missing is my all time favorite.......

PIGS = Projects in Grocery Sacks; often associated with UFOs & USOs........ comes under the sub category of 'seemed like a good idea at the time' *sigh*

Ok, how do you find out when you posted your first post? It would have been under Mr. Joe's name.

We were in SLC at the time as DS set it up before he went off to college '95-or it could have been NM cause he went to college just before we moved to SLC. I don't remember--other than he did it so we could email each other.

I went to Google and put in Mr. Joe's name--cause I remember either Miz Sairey or Miz Ragmop telling me how to change the name to Butterfly

Butterfly (Has it really been 10/12 years ? )

I used to be able to go to Google groups (use advanced search & search on the email address you were using at the time) and find my earliest post, but I think they've finally discarded some of the old, old posts - I could only search back to July 1997 & I know I started posting a month or so before that. I know when I first got a modem for my computer (when they finally put a server in Wilder so I didn't have to pay long distance to access the internet) and I 'found' rctq a month or so later.

Yes, it has been that long (10 - 12 years)! Sairey, Ragmop, & a bunch of them were already here long before I joined in.

Oh, gosh, I think I have a couple of those hiding in my closet! PIGS, I mean. Didn't realize they had a category all their own!

Haven't been on here so long, but I look up to the old-timers and advanced quilters...including Miz Sairey, I do miss her. I think she promised to find me a modern, independent cowboy, but they must be darned hard to find..........

Copied it from Google, I didn't make the list. Nor more than I do UFOs or PIGS. ;->

It has to be that long. I know I got on line in June 1997 when DH (he'd been doing the Internet "thing" for 2 or so years already) found RCTN & RCTQ for me. I didn't post to RCTQ for several years -- just lurked -- but I knew where to go to get any quilting info I needed :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Do think they are as we had a gal from Canada that wanted a Cowboy...even promised to come to CA to find one. She no longer posts.

Sometimes my "begs" are responded to :) I had forgotten PIGS, also. I no longer use Grocery Sacks now that I found the BIG Ziploc bags. Figure I'll be working on them soon so the closed Plastic won't have time to affect the fabrics. Now that I have my own room, I don't have to zip them closed as noone bothers my things : ) Yes, I'm spoiled, pampered, etc, but I'm worth it....

Butterfly (Miz Ragmop, can you add PIGS to our list? )

That was Lynne in Toronto. I sent her a California cowboy calendar a couple of years back. My best friend is a real cowboy, and no, she can't have him ;)

I first saw this group in summer of '98 when I was visiting my friend in Oregon. He had just gotten webTV. I was a computer newbie. He had found this group for me and knew how excited I was. It was another 6 months or so before I got webTV, and first came into this cyber-frame in Jan 1999.

'Grocery sacks' here are plaggy bags, not paper - and they bio-degrade after 9 months, so you find your precious project covered in bits of what was once a bag - yuk! Sally at the Seaside~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~uk

Our Canadian friend is still looking, tho' more occupied w/ playing w/ the grandbabies. She came to Tx a few years ago & I took her to Ft.Worth; she only had time to "window shop" but discovered the pickings are fine here.

There's a place over in Granbury called the Cowboy Marketplace. ...why, yes, I have shopped there.. .. .. what happens in Granbury, stays in ... . ;-D

Lynne was at Houston in 2001, I met up with Y'all at that time. I think I de-lurked in fall of 1998, although I can only find a post from 2001
