Yay!

The quilt that Tish and I worked so frantically on was sold for $100 at auction, this despite not being in the brochure of items for auction. The overall auction made $8,000. Another event, a silent auction, is planned and she asked to keep the wallhanging for that. No problem.

So Tish and I are going to put together another quilt for the next time a fundraiser needs an auction-worthy quilt, but this time we're going to make it in advance, LOL. She has a group of stunning strips in shades ranging from salmon to burnt orange to deep red. I have some gorgeous creams. We're going to mix those and then applique on leaves cut from fall colors of taffeta and silk. I think we'll back it with taffeta again, even tho it was slippery and difficult to work with. But no more suede cloth for binding. I'm thinking velvet this time.

Sunny, . . . just wondering. ( I know more about doing pedicures for gators than I do wallhangings of silk and taffeta). I wonder if velvet ribbon might be worth considering for binding your creation. Might present some challenges but it would have two finished edges and that would be a winner. Just wondering. Polly
