August CCC

Hi Everyone

I got mine done nice and early this month. I might add to them as the month goes on.

My DH surprised me yesterday and brought me home a small gift. He knows I'm participating in the CCC and saw a few Christmas Charms in a bookshop he thought I might be able to use! Isn't he a sweetie? I also decided to try and use stuff I never consider using, like fancy edged scissors and glitter which have been gathering dust amongst my stash for ages, because they've never been used.

My cards are quite simple, but I kinda like how they turned out - more than my first tries last month, although there are still "much room for improvement" (as my teachers always use to say in school -lol!)

If you would like to have a look - they are at:

or if that does not work, in my webshots account in Lynne's Christmas Card Album.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, Judy! You are on the ball this month! Your cards look great. I like the edges with the decorative scissors. It is always nice to bring out old things and dust them off.

I was just looking at some glitter and thinking about trying to use it on some Christmas cards....that is until I accidentally spilled it all over the day care supply room floor. I decided to take a break and read e-mail and saw the trouble Lynne had with the beads.....at least I can just vacuum my mess up.

Judy, your cards are pretty. I love the glitter look, but not the mess I seem to make every time I get near it.

Great job on the cards Judy! The Christmas charms are adorable. I think using some glitter is a great idea. I too, have glitter that I've never used. I might have to see how I could incorporate it into a Christmas card.

I'm glitter-challenged, too Sandy. LOL I don't have glitter, and that's probably a good idea or I would have a very sparkly floor. I always manage to get embossing powder where it shouldn't, and that's with a Powder Pal. I think it would be very bad if I used glitter! LOL

Thanks Crystal. Yes, I'm setting small challenges for myself to use up all my scraps and also use the tools I never use. I'm surprised at how much fun I'm having doing that! Thanks for looking.

Thanks Sandy :) I must confess - the glitter I used are actually "glitter glue" They come in little squeezy tubes and therefor no mess to be made. Although I do end up with glitter on my face somehow!! Don't ask - I don't know either....lol!

That's actually one of the reasons I've never tried embossing! I always think I'm going to make a big mess, but one of these days I'll just have to give it a go :)

I'm looking forward to see what you come up with Lynne :) Thanks for looking. My DH like the little Christmas Hat one the most, but I think I like the Bell :)

Thanks Linda! I don't think I'll dare to use the conventional glitter - the stuff I used came ready made in squeezy tubes - so not too much mess! Thank goodness :)
