Been a-shoppin' ;)

Hi Everyone!

Hope all had a wonderful scrappy week. Just thought I would share.... I've been out shopping this morning and bought my first xyron sticker maker. I bought the small one first to give it a try. Been playing around a bit and it's REALLY cool! Now at last I know what everyone have been raving about! Then I also got a dymo machine, but could only find black and red tape, not the green and yellow I was looking for, but none the less, ANOTHER new toy! I also got a Fiskars embossing stylus. I've never tried embossing, but am eager to give it a try. And finally I could not resist a small kitty punchie that was on sale! It's too darling, so I just had to take that home too! :)

So...guess what I will be doing the rest of the weekend ;)))

Sounds like you had fun shopping trip Judy :o) The Xyron Create-a-Sticker is great for getting adhesive on little pieces, cut out letters, etc. You will love the Dymo!!! Did you get the junior or the much more expensive one. I bought the junior several months ago in Asda (part of Wal-Mart group) for £4.99 and also bought red, black and blue 9mm tape. I am not sure if this one has green and yellow as an option....perhaps the big brother one does! If you want green or yellow Dymo type labels try this link:

and print out on card of your choice. I also have a Dymo type font that I picked up on one of the free font sites. The one I have you can also cut card strips and pass it through the Dymo to emboss the letters, then rub them with a little chalk to make then stand out. Have fun playing with your new toys :o) I am busy organising (read stroking) paper in readiness for my Scutto and PaperPacker arriving....LOL Didn't realise I had gathered so much stuff....may have to thin out a little as some of it I would never use. I must have about a gazillion sheets of citrus coloured, geometric & dotty paper, which I can see myself using this millennium....ROFL

Sounds like a great shopping spree Judy! I know you'll have lots of fun playing with your new toys. LOL

I discovered the other day that I need teacher/school looking paper for this paper bag album for DD's teacher. Well darn it, that meant I had to go shopping! Took the kids with me, and we met MC at the LSS. I found lots of neat papers and stickers, etc. All I'll say is that MC is one awesome enabler. LOL

It's the Organizer Express. I like the little scissor function! Too cool! It was R130 - round about 13 pounds I think. They had samples of the tape it uses on the packaging - they come in black, red, blue, green, yellow and orange. Thanks for the tip on the cardstock and then chalking it! What a great idea! Never would have thought of that :) All that paper!!!! You must be in paper heaven right now! Enjoy :)

Judy...mine's is the little blue one at the top of the page. Here it is called the Dymo Label Junior and it looks like it takes the same tape as your model. Perhaps you can get yellow, orange and green for it also.....must keep my eyes peeled for that. The packaging only shows black, blue and red but the tape size it the same as yours. I like the scissors thing and it leaves you with a little tab, which makes it easy to get the backing off :o)

You'll be playing... sounds like fun. Hope you enjoy all you're new toys.

I did some scrapping last night and got really frustrated that I couldn't find the 12X12 paper I wanted. I have a huge bin of it, but I need to organize it some how. I'll be working on it tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe of doing folders that say things like "kids", "nature", "travel", "sports" etc to start.

Lynne, I know what you mean about organizing the 12x12 paper. I started off just sorting them by colors, then I sorted the subjects, like sports, Christmas, and baby, but I am finding it harder to find what I want to use, as I keep buying more paper!! I am thinking of reorganizing too! good luck with yours! Linda C Illinois

I ordered it last week and can't wait for it to arrive. The papers seem to fit like a sort of fan and you can view them without constantly leafing through. It can be hung or it will free stand on the workspace!!! Sorry for the enabling post but this is just the coolest thing I've seen. Already, some of my paper is becoming dog-eared even although I am very careful. I store in Artbin Super Satchels and my cube storage from Ikea. While sorting them at the weekend I came across stuff I had forgotten already. I can't wait to get mine! Courier from the US......hurry up!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
