CKC in St. Louis

Not going to the CKC, and never heard of the Scrapbook Factory, but if you get the chance to stop at Archivers, make all efforts to do so. It's GREAT!! Makes Michael's look like a backroom. And take moola...you'll need it! LOL! There is no way you can go to an Archivers without finding something that you can't live without! (Everytime I've been to one, something has reached out and grabbed me and wouldn't let go till I went through the register with it! )

Enjoy the CKC. Several people I know have been to them in different parts of the country, and they all say the conventions are great.

Scrapbook Factory is a great store - be sure to stop there! Just be aware that the store will look a little "emptier" than usual due to the

fact that they will have a booth set up at CKC. There is also an Archivers a couple miles down the road from there (and it is right across the street from a Hobby Lobby)!

As for CKC, I will probably come up on Saturday just to shop, I only live about 100 miles away.

My friends and I are going. Come early as parking is tight--unless you like to walk. I have never been to the CKC before. I believe it is the first year they are having it in this location. Later in the year there is a rubberstamp convention at the same place and we always attend and go home broke. I have not been to the place in O'Fallon as it is in the opposite direction of where I live. BUT Achiver's is real nice and has a very knowledgeable staff. Also hit Hobby Lobby which is in the same area. Check Hobby Lobby's website and see if there is a 40% off coupon for that week. Hobby Lobby is not open on Sundays.

I'm going to the one here in KC the weekend before St Louis. CK bought the convention company out that used to put on the two Missouri conventions. I didn't get to go the last two yrs but I'm def going this year. Are they offering any good classes? Mostly I like the make & takes. I was hoping I'd get an e-mail about class sign ups since I always did from the other company. Oh well, guess I'll just have to go hunt it down on the web. Have fun Sandy! I'll try to remember and give a report after I go.

there is also a large lss in mt Vernon. It is at the exit where the TA truckstop is, on the west side of 64. You turn right on a street that goes along the hiway before you get to the truckstop.

I'm a little less than 200 miles away. So I've got further to come, but we still wanted to make a day trip of it. My Mom used to live in St. Louis and we made trips there for years. Thanks for the info on Scrapbook Factory. Sandy

I went to the one in Nashville last year and it was awesome. My favorite part was the vendors fair. I spent every spare minute in there drooling. Sandy

So many of the classes were already full by the time we decided to go. I like to pick the ones that major companies put on as they tend to give more freebies with their class. I'll post feedback after I get back. It's April 8th. Sandy

Hey! It's good to see you back home posting. Sorry I missed you the last time you were through. I think I was with Jesse at scouts that evening. I don't like to take on part-time kiddos at the childcare, but I decided to for a family for the next couple of months while their regular provider is closed for surgery. I'm going to sock away the extra money I make for the barn trip. The Archivers I found is in Fairview Heights, IL - I remember seeing the St. Clair Shopping Mall just off I64 on the south side. It's located just behind that shopping area. And the good part is they are open until 9:30 PM Mon-Sat. If I have time I'll try to check out the one in Mt. Vernon, but I got a funny feeling the Archivers might end up kicking us out to close. Mt. Vernon always brings back fond memories for me. When we adopted out oldest daughter I drove to St. Louis to pick her up from the hospital and my Mom and Step-Dad gave my DH a ride to Mt. Vernon to meet me for the rest of the trip back home, He met DD for the first time in the parking lot of the McDonalds there. That's why he always called her his Mickey-D baby. I've got to scrapbook that memory! Hope to catch you the next time through. Sandy

I went to the archivers store at the mall of america a few years back. Of course Dave didn't go then either cause he was at my house!...lol.... i prefer the scrapbook warehouse in lewisville texas over that particular archivers my own opinion of course.

The store you are talking about on the west side of 64 at Mt. Vernon (Starannes, in the RLC Marketplace) closed some time back. She also has another store in Marion at the mall, but it is also in the process of closing down.

There is another store in Mt. Vernon, but it is about 4-5 miles east of

1. It is small, and personally if I had a choice I would skip it and spend my time in Fairview Heights at SB Factory and Archivers!

Sandy - where are you from? You sound like you will be passing me on your way to CKC. (I live just south of Marion, IL).

I wish I had known of this event earlier! I should really keep up on this stuff...lol I checked out the site, and realized it wouldn't be that far for me to go for the day either, but I checked my calendar, and I already committed to taking oldest DS to YABA bowling tournament in Rockford IL that weekend. DARN IT! I find this event that I could plan on going to! Yippee! Its the Midwest Scrapbook Convention and it in Indianapolis, which is only 1 1/2 hours away from me!

Dave, next time we WILL get over there too. Hopefully there'll be time for the Scrapbook Page also. It's, IMO, the best in the metro.
