Has anyone ever heard of a 2-liter swap? This one was a new one on me. The scrap group I recently joined in Evansville are doing a swap. It's called a 2-liter swap. I am suppose to decorate a 2-liter bottle in any scrapping manner I want - including the opening. It has to include (inside the bottle) store bought item(s) totaling $10, one homemade item (ready-to-send card, tag, title/header, journaling block, etc.) and one yard of quality ribbon in the receiver's favorite color.
Do you cut the bottle so it is like a "basket" or "hinged"? I can't picture how you get stuff inside the bottle. If you do one, post it so we can see! TFS!
I haven't heard of this....but years ago when the soda bottles had that extra piece of plastic that kinda looks like a cup or mini bowl it's sitting in....well the one I bought was very loose the plastic capped bottom came unglued so this was my idea cut of the bottom part of the bottle, put in some confetti, stuffed a teddy bear in the bottle then put the cap end on attaching velcro to it instead of glue to make it re-usable again...attached a tag to it.
I have been crafty w/trying to RECYCLE stuff so Ma and I saved alot of JUNK as DH would call it. milk bottle caps, the plastic bottle liner discs inside the caps of her BOOST bottles...I have painted a few w/the RANGER DAUBERS, then stamped on them also.
I was thinking out re-using a 2 liter soda bottle to make something w/ it also...maybe cut out a flap type opening in the middle to put stuff inside then on the flap punch w/the CROP-A-DILE also put in eyelets, snaps for closure or a ribbon tie...
I have been saving the POM TEA GLASSES to make gifts with there is a clear plastic over wrap on the glass which has writing on it but the the glass is clear, the lid has writing on it but it's paintable, etc. to cover it up .then embellish... I have 1 filled up w/MnM'S candy peanut butter eggs.... it fit the whole bag minus a few I ate...LOL
I've never heard of this. Did a search to get an idea. I saw them called "Pop bottle swaps" too, but no picture available there.

Sounds like fun. They were mailing the bottles not putting them into boxes. That would be fun to receive. I remember getting a coconut in the mail once with a letter ...well a note written on it. That was a hoot. Lynne
A swapping group I just joined does soda bottle swaps... but the bottles aren't decorated - people just cut a hole in the side of the bottle and stuff it with excess craft supplies, then tape it up and stick a label on it and post it to their partner...
That sounds quite interesting! I've never heard of one, but it does sound interesting. You're so talented, so I know your soda bottle is going to look awesome when you're done. I look forward to seeing pics of it!
