Journalling

Larry and I went to the storage unit to dig out things to sell at our garage sale (9/8-9/07) and I rescued my old scrapbooks--I couldn't find my wedding scrapbook that I made I think it is forever lost in the multitude of boxes. It's funny I'm a stickler for journalling now but in flipping through the old scrapbooks I didn't journal at all. Maybe a note like (early entry 7:30 a.m. what am I nuts) but most of the albums don't have anything.

I also noticed (much to my amusement) that I was starting to add stickers and decorative paper to layouts back in July of 1999 and have to laugh at how lame they look compared to now. Again no journalling with the exception of a comical note or such.

I've decided even if I hate my handwriting I will add some journalling (even if it is a note stuck behind a layout) to discuss why I was scrapbooking something and what was the emotions behind it. A lot of our layouts are artistic and I know we don't necessarily want to add a note or two but who says we can't journal on the back of the layout on a piece of archival cardstock for future generations.

It's just a thought. Now I have to spray the albums with something as they are all those old newsprint jumbo albums of bygone past (especially my high school album I'm noticing the tape is yellowing.) Arg.

How fun Kate to be able to look back at albums like that. Must be amazing seeing how you have grown as a scrapper. Enjoy all those memories!
