Making your own rubons

Has anybody here tried making their own rubons? I've read how to do it and it sounds very very easy. I just don't want to purchase a whole box of 50 transparancys to do this. Has anybody found smaller packages of them? That was at Office Max.

Thanks for your help.

I tried it a couple of times and couldn't get it to work. I let the thing dry for more than an hour and it still smeared. If anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them!

Did you check out ebay?

If you watch you can get some for less than $5 a box. Sandy

Don't you have to print it backwards on the rough side of the transparency to get it to hold/ I am sure that's what I did as I had to look up the directions for my printer. I have a few I made a couple of years ago. I'll find them this weekend in the albums and check.

Another thought is maybe we could split a box?.....I know that 10 sheets should last me a long time and shipping shouldn't be to bad...???

any thoughts on this idea?....someone else would have to coordinate this as where i live they would not have any at all.....

would have to get it on ebay....

Debi, E-mail me your address and I will send you 10. I got a box of 100 and will never use all of them. And the great thing is I didn't even pay for them. Someone was cleaning out an office and gave them to my son who just knew I could do something crafty with them or use them for my day care.

Send to this address so your address won't be posted online - just replace the AT and DOT slmcbethATyahooDOTnet.

You have no idea how much I appreciate it!!!

I'll be emailing you!

thanks!...debi

Can you only make rub-ons with an inkjet printer? I actualy have tried it a few years ago with my inkjet and it did work - I just used a page protector and it did take a while to dry, but since then have changed to a laser printer. Just wondering...

My guess is the heat process in the laser makes it so it won't transfer from the page.
