Mel K: question about a LO

I saw one of your LO's on your gallery - Six Flags. Did you use stickers for the fireworks? If so, do you remember where you got them? I want to do a LO for some 4th of July pics I have, and I got this idea of fireworks on a black background. I've been trying to figure out how to possibly emboss or stamp, but I want them to be fairly big. I've only been able to find a small 1.5X2" stamp. Any help appreciated. Sandy

Sandy, the fireworks on the Six Flags layout are stickers from Mrs. Grossmans. These are multicolored. I found them at JoAnns, several years ago. I haven't been able to find more identical stickers, but I have found the same ones in red, green, or gold single color. Each sticker is about 1

1/2 to 2 inches high. I also used fireworks paper on that layout. It makes a good accent, as well as a background. I have a stamp like the one you describe, and it is fairly small. I've never seen a larger one. Another thing you might want to consider are fireworks diecuts. I've seen them in single color, and in more detailed colors. The single color ones would look good embossed or with glitter. You can emboss a diecut just by drawing with an embossing pen along the cut lines. Or if you prefer, you can draw your fireworks directly on the black paper with fine glue lines and use multicolor glitter. That would definitely brighten up the page. I'm glad you like the Six Flags layouts. I had fun with those.

I just saw the Mrs. Grossman's fireworks at my LSS in Hagerstown, so they are still available.
