My Latest Scrapbook Page

Hi Scrappers,

Merry Christmas to everyone.

I have enjoyed being part of RCS.

My latest scrapbook project has been completed.

The subject is "The Alamo" it can be viewed at

formatting link
I used the Cricut to create the lettering, matting around the pictures, and the larger stars.

A mini punch was used for the accent stars.

I only have the George cart that came with

Cricut but plan to purchase other cartridges.

I enlarged a Texas map at Kinko's to a size large

enough to accomadate the information about The Alamo.

Then I cut around the the silhoutte leaving a 1/4" margin.

using 12x12 acid free paper

The paper that remained after I cut out the silhoutte I taped

to the screen of my computer monitor using Scotch Removable Tape

I then typed in the data to fit into the unmasked part of the

screen. The monitor screen is glass not LCD.

I then had a document the shape and size of the Texas silhouette.

I printed the document on regular paper 8.5 x 11 which is the

lagest with my printer could print. The document took two pages.

I got around this snag by taping Texas silhouette to the first

page so then folding under the part of the silhouette that

would not fit into the printer. Kept my finger crossed that

it would not jam. :-)

Everything worked fine!

Now the second half !

I taped the part of the silhouette that was folded under

to the second page. Positioning it so that it would line

up. This worked first try. !! :-)

Some times you luck out.

Bill,

Your pages look great! Very clean and very informative. I am impressed at your creativity to get the text to print in the shape you wanted. I would have never thought of that! :-) Something to think about.

Thanks for sharing!

Merry Christmas! Theresa (aka Mommyrazz)

I really like your journaling on the shape of Texas. Definitely something for me to keep in mind for a LO.

Bill, Your LO's turned out wonderful. I'm sending the link to your website to my friend that works with me at our local museum. She has been talking to me about doing a scrapbook about our county history for the museum. Thanks for sharing, Sandy

That turned out very nice, Bill. :-)

We went to the Alamo this summer (first time for my daughter) and it sure has changed since I went as a child more than 30 years ago! I like how elegant you made the picture look. You have very creative techniques! :-)

Trivia: This monument is smack in the middle of downtown, surrounded by tall buildings and shops...just nearby is a wonderful place called the Riverwalk! If you are ever in the area, check it out! :-)

I like the historical stuff on your second page too! When I was a 4th grade teacher this was covered but very drily in the textbooks. I think your way is much more eye-catching and interesting!

Thanks for the ideas for our vacation pics! :-)

I really like your pages Bill. That's a really creative way to do the journaling, too! I'll have to try to remember that for future vaction pages.
