My new Craftroom

Jun 22, 2005 14 Replies

I cleaned out the junkroom last week and started organising it as a craftroom. It's basic but at least it gives me a space to work that's NOT in the middle of the living room! Now I need better lighting (a table lamp or a lamp I can shine over my workspace), a storage cabinet for my paper, and a wastepaper basket. A shelf would be nice too, but I can't have that - we're renting and we'll have to move soon so it's not worth making structural changes.

Here's the album.

Looking good. I use one of those floor lamps from Wal-Mart that has three lights that can be moved and adjusted. Works great for me. I wish I had the elbow room. I'm still working away on my scraping area. Don't know if I will be done by the weekend, though. Just got back from the granddaughter's t-ball game. Oldest grandson has one tomorrow night. I'm tired...... Sandy

I see you have two cats like we do--my one cat Moose is so nosey, my in-laws call him "the Inspector General", LOL. Must be a cat and crafting thing! :-)

Way to go Karen! Looking good! I can't wait to see what wonderful creations you make now. :-)

You've done some really good work on the room. I am sure that you are now enjoying doing some great scrapping work in the room! Enjoy your new space!

Looks Good Karen! Congrats, and good for you!

Looks good! You know, for a shelf you could get a matching drawer unit like the one on the left side of your table and put it on the other end and put a shelf on top of those...Also, I have one of the small Ott lites that is portable, I love working with it on my desk! Keep up the good work, Arleen

Isn't it great to have a space solely dedicated to crafting! Enjoy your space Karen!

I am so jealous of anyone that has a craft or scrap room! I have no room to scrap. I would do more but it is such a pain to drag everything out and put it away again. Maybe someday!

i am with you Lin and many others too!! I have a corner in my living room. What WORKS GREAT for a scarpbook area is a computer desk that has like a hutch top on it. Then take a piece of plywood, panelingor backing of some sort and put over the back to enclose it. It really works great does not stand out too bad and has a working surface and storage area.

Great craft area Karen.

Thanks! Silver and Scout are a bit resentful of it... either that or they think that I put it there purely for their benefit. They keep jumping up onto the table and sniffing around at the boxes, and chewing on things that they left entirely alone until I moved them! Somehow they all suddenly became 'interesting'!

Silver was getting under the table and reaching up and clawing the tablecloth from underneath, and also wrinkling up the cloth when she jumped up and down. I've embalmed it in packing tape now so that she can't get at it... and I hope that the tape holds!
