WOW Linda. What a great hubby to do all that work for you when he hates carpentry work! He did a great job, sounds like he listened to what you really wanted. Thanks for showing it to us, gives me idea for when I get my own room (and don't have to share with DH and the guinea pig herd!).
Lord have mercy I am so jealous. My hubby lets me domineer the dining room table.
I think when we move out of my in laws I want to "scrap-lift" the idea of the room you've got.

Ooooh! (There is drool forming in the corner of my lips when I say that. :-) ).What a wonderful crafting space your husband built for you. I dream of having my own craft room someday. I have a 'crafting corner' in our bedroom, equipped with two rolling carts and a small portable table we purchased at Costco.
You could have your husband sneakily cut a hole in the dining room table... insert some glass and just keep a table cloth over it. haha Wasn't that light table a great idea!

Your scraproom looks fabulous!

Linda, I think we are twins separated at birth! I recently re-did my scrap area and while it doesn't look exactly like yours, it has several elements that yours done including a "quiet area" AND a lazy cat that comes in and sleeps in a box! I'm going to get DH to take pics so I can show y'all what I have done. UNFORTUNATELY, I have no good "before" pics as the friend who was helping me took the pics and her digital camera was having problems. We didn't know until after they were developed because they looked fine when they were in the camera if that makes sense. DH got the Canon EOS Digital for himself for Christmas so the "after" shots should be fine.

That's a great scraproom. Nice of DH to do it for you :) Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed touring your scrapfoor! I am thinking that I need a way to organize my stamps bettter and am still trying to figure it all out! Your husband was a dear to do all that work for you and you've done a mighty fine job or organizing everything so that it is very functional. I got a scraprack for Christmas as well and am still organizing things into it. Did yours come with organizing ideas? I was expecting they would send a pamphlet with it, but nada, not any type of instruction other than how to assemble it. Anyhow, great job and lots of great organizational ideas!
Speaking of rooms, Lynne, where is yours at? Is it all finished yet? Can we see?
I think other than cleaning it up it's done. The guys are coming out today to do a few things, but I think they are about finished. The garage needs some repairs, but they can work out there and I won't know a thing about it. The room is empty, I haven't moved in, but I'll take pictures.

Great scrap room---I got a lot of ideas from your pics!
That looks great Linda!
I really enjoyed the tour:>)
nice!!! at least your cat sleeps in a box... mine demanded a chair! LOLOL
Talk about drool..............................and my husband does carpentry work! We just don't have any room left. I do have an office, but it has floor to ceiling shelves on three walls for books & videos. We are all readers and I have so many reference books because of the history and genealogy research I do. I have a 4' table against one wall at a ninety-dregee angle to the computer desk and I was able to clear off four shelves to put supplies on. My table has two wire shelves above it for my storage boxes and I just have to work out of my tote and toolbox. I try to reorganize the area every couple of weeks - it helps me refresh on what I have I'll have to take a pic of the work area so you can see what I'm talking about. (after I clean up a bit!) Right now my son's bike he got for Christmas is sitting in front of one of the bookshelves - there is no room in the shed and it is such a hassle to take up and down the basement steps. Sandy
Can I borrow your husband?
Wow, what a great love he has for you, what a great room you have for yourself! It makes me want to kick my son out of his bedroom (it's the only other room I've got) and do as you've done.. ha ha. I am sure many great inspirations will be born within. Thanks for sharing Morris with us, the room wouldn't have been complete without him. Melissa in Seattle Pages in 2005: 33
Your scrap room is beautiful. I am so jealous. The light table idea is great. I'll have to remember that if I ever get more than a dining room table to scrap on!
Do you like the scraprack? I have been looking at them but wasn't sure how practical they would be.
Very nice room. You are so organized. We are looking into adding on a room to our house this spring for a craft/office room. Thanks for sharing.

My scraprack did not come with any organizing ideas either but there is some on thier site. I pretty much went in alphabetical order by catagory.

Wow Linda!!! That room looks great! I can't wait until I'm able to have a room all to myself for my craft stuff with lots of room to spread out, etc. DH did a great job on your room.
