New Scrapbook Store**Dangerous**

Hi Everyone, I went to a new Scrapbook store here on Long Island. It is called Scrap-aholics and boy let me tell you I could have easily spent more than the $50. I had. They have the most GORGEOUS PAPERS!! I cannot even begin to tell you the names of them because I was so overwhelmed!!!!!!!!!!! They have a lot of stamps and supplies as well and a really nice scrap room. I purchased some paper & stickers from Reminisce, Embossed cardstock stickers by Sandylion, really cool Sesame street stickers by Joelee's ( my DD loves Elmo), Scrappy Tape, really cool plastic like embellishments from Go West, these can be chalked inked painted etc...., some Ghost Snowflakes by Heidi Swapp and last but not last A.T.C. Collection papers by Leisure Arts. I did have lots of fun and do plan to return to the store. I hope before Christmas. If anyone is ever in the area of a Town called West Hempstead I would highly recommend stopping by that store. It is definitely a Paper a holics FiX. God Bless, Dorothy in NY

Sounds like you had a great time. I was just looking at the ACT Collection papers on the Leisure Arts website. They have some pretty cool looking ones. I'll have to see if any of the stores around here carry them.

Hi Dorothy & Everyone else!

Sounds like you had fun shopping there! I have not been to that scrapbook store yet! Don't travel out that way!

I usually shop @ MICHAEL'S the most cause it's the closest to me & while out N about I pass by there all the time! I go to AC MOORE which is a bit farther away but use the 40% off or more coupons for most of the expensive items.

I have been shopping @ a LSS called YOUR HAPPY PLACE (YHP) it's in East Northport! I have tons of fun there & they are very friendly just like family to me & have FREE Make N Takes every so often & I learn new techniques & also buy more stuff!

They have a great big scrap room which you pay $5 to use from 11 AM - 5 PM! Enjoy using our stamps, inks, dyecut machines which include the Accucut, Ellison, & QuicKuts. We also have an assortment of punches, eyelets, stencils and more. Your Cropping Hostess will be happy to help you to make your cropping experience a wonderful success. You are welcome to bring food and beverages, we have a microwave and fridge availabe. So bring your projects and supplies and crop, crop, crop. :)

I was allowed to use the MICHAEL'S & AC MOORE coupons there! So when I had a 50% off coupon I'd buy the QUICKUTZ Themed sets since they are $50 so getting half off I could afford to buy a few more things!

YHP has there own coupons now I get sent in email! Which have specials too! 40% off an item when you purchase $25 or more! I spend more than $25 there I keep finding more great stuff there! Here's the link to there website

which also has info about classes & projects. I don't have much time for the classes but I made the HARVEST SPICE EXPLOSION BOOK which was fun but still ain't done sine I got to the class a bit late but caught up!

There was a few Tim Holz inspired classes which I wanted to take but it was a few weeks class & w/my crazy schedule I'd miss some of them so it wasn't worth it this time around! I found out about this LSS by checking on where to buy scrapbook kits for dogs which I bought @ Petsmart & curious about this kit I went to their website & found YHP close by me!

I have a friend in PA who comes out to visit me & her & her daughter have soo much fun everytime we go to YHP! We missed the FREE Make N Take making a Christmas Ball ornament since throughout the day they kept changing the Make N Takes! We went to a few craft shows earlier in the day then stopped @ YHP later!

PS If you go there tell Donna & John I said hello!

That sounds like a fantastic store! I wish our LSS was that good... they have classes but I've never seen any that inspired me to hand over the cash, and while they have nice papers/embellishments, they're very expensive - I always thought they were pricy, and when I started going to my monthly crop the first thing everyone said was how expensive that store was!

Hi Karen!

YHP is the 1st LSS I found to have lots of new & fun things, but also friendly helpful people who will take the time to show you how to use a product you are interested in!

I had a blast there yesterday Stacey Panassidi of Junkitz was there doing a demo of new products & doing another Free Make N Take we made a Christmas Tree Ornament w/Stacey using chipboard squares & cardstock, a ribbon & the kewl new Junkitz overlay initials.

I learned some of Stacey's Techniques & found out she doesn't like to sew things! So using a black Zig marker & making those tiny stitch lines, work great for her & also saves time!

Using STAPLES gives you another stitched look too & attaches things easily!

Stacey passed around a few ideas & a Small Box Bookz showing everyone her tatoo of the JUNKITZ flowers she got on the small of her back...she is quite proud of it and it looks darn cute! This was a great scrapbook idea book she made of this event!

Not only did I get to meet Stacey, take a pic of her (not sure how it looks yet since my battery in the digital camera needs charging) but her book which I won in my box of stuff she autographed for me!

There was a drawing everyone who attended the Demo & Free Make N Take got a ticket! For every $10 you spent another ticket(s) was given out! I won 2nd Prize which was a bunch of JUNKITZ Stuff, some new things too!

I told Donna & Stacey well my Birthday is next week so I guess it's a bit of Birthday Luck!

A JUNKITZ Small Junk Bagz in Earthtone (not crazy about this color, but I love the flowers on it) I told Stacey I'm going to change the colors on it & she says they also have a black & white one also which I can put my own designs on! I bought the same bag before winning the prize (lol) Stacey uses this for a make-up bag too when away!

I organized my STICKLES in one zippered compartment & Ranger Alcohol Inks in a few other zippered compartments. (Everything fits great & isn't upside down)
