New Scrapbook Store Review

I was at the Stamp Art Store a few days ago when I over heard some gals talking about a new Scrapbook store about 45 minutes from me. It's called the Green Tangerine and has 10,000 square feet of room. Well, I had to check it out even though it's not too convenient for me. When I walked in first thing that struck me was it looked like a warehouse rather than a cute scrapbook store. All the shelves are on wheels, floor painted glossy gray, but I thought they are new they'll "cute" the place up with time. I went to basically just look around, but I was in need of paper with sunflowers on it or some generic cute flower paper. The place was probably 80% paper.

After cruising through the whole place I couldn't find any paper the suited my needs. I thought how odd. I didn't find any paper close to meeting my needs in a room 10,000 square feet. I didn't see any cool products that I hadn't seen before either. I was disappointed.

After I left there I went to my local giant JoAnns (it's probably 10,000 square feet), because I needed velcro. Then thought I'll cruise through their little scrapbook section for the paper I needed and there was sunflower paper!

Lynne, there's a SB store in Miami that I've been to on my visits there and it's also a warehouse, but I was surprised at how little the inventory is compared to the sp. ft. My local SB store is in a strip plaza and has more inventory cause every sq. inch is filled with inventory. The only good thing is that they have a lot of room with a lot of tables and fits a lot of people my local one can't fit that many. Hilda

Now isn't that odd!? you found the paper you needed at Jo Anns, and not the mega store..wow. I wish you lived closer so you could see the Daisy Lane store that I have to travel an hour to get to. I don't go very often, and when I do I take plenty of money, because they always have the latest stuff and TONS of everything, especially paper and tons of cardstock colors...and my friend and I usually make a day of it and crop there. I am hoping we will be able to squeeze in a visit there this summer. Linda
