OT: ATTN EBAY SHOPPERS

I know there's at least a couple of ebay shoppers on here so I just wanted to warn people. I just got an email from snipped-for-privacy@eBay.com with the subject line TKO Notice ***Urgent Safeharbor Department Notice*** asking me to click on a link to update my credit card info for ebay - as I don't have a credit card on file at all with ebay, I got suspicious and sent the email to ebay to see what they had to say and apparently this email is going around to a bunch of people but it is absolutely not from ebay. It is a fake so please don't even click the link!

Good catch Melissa! Anytime you get solicited from any bank, paypal, ebay and so forth, the odds are that it is a scam.

Yes, there's been one with paypal also. There was a thing on the news a couple of days ago about the emails everyone is getting from fakers.

I get those all the time and just forward them along with the headers (very important to add that) to snipped-for-privacy@ebay.com. They'll take care of the problem. You can do the same with all those paypal emails to, just forward them with the headers to snipped-for-privacy@paypal.com

I've had that happen and don't use paypal. It just comes up occasionally.

Glad you caught on to the Melissa! That's why my DH is so hesitant to use the CC on the net.

hi guys,

i get this TKO notice around 3 times a day..i just keep forwarding them to ebay

but yes...you gotta be careful!!!

i NEVER reply to these emails...i will ALWAYS delete!!!!
